As a Cloud Engineer in the Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) Airports organization, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining cloud‑based infrastructure and services that support passenger processing, airport operations, and baggage management across major global airports. This includes cloud environments that power airline agent‑assisted check‑in, self‑service kiosks, passenger verification and security, biometric identity management, and baggage messaging systems. In this role, you will leverage your cloud engineering expertise to design, implement, and optimize AWS environments using infrastructure‑as‑code tools and cloud‑native architectures. You will work closely with Cloud Architects, Software Engineering, QA, Cybersecurity, and Service & Support teams across the U.S. and India to deliver secure, compliant, and highly available cloud solutions. You will contribute to proof‑of‑concept efforts, support DevSecOps initiatives, ensure PCI DSS compliance, and provide third‑level engineering support for CAS Airports products deployed in the cloud.

What You Will Do:

Design, build, and optimize AWS cloud environments that support CAS Airports products and services. Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using CloudFormation, PowerShell, Terraform, and other automation tools. Create and maintain documentation for cloud processes, architectures, and deployments. Collaborate with CAS Cybersecurity to ensure cloud environments meet and exceed applicable security and compliance standards. Work closely with Cloud Architects and fellow Cloud Engineers on proof‑of‑concepts and cloud deployment strategies for CAS Airports products. Partner with development, QA, and Service & Support teams to advance DevSecOps practices and support cloud infrastructure needs. Support yearly PCI DSS AOC compliance by preparing required evidence and coordinating with QSA providers. Provide third‑level engineering support for cloud‑deployed CAS Airports systems, working directly with Service & Support teams to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience planning, designing, and implementing cloud infrastructure in AWS.
  • Experience with system administration (Windows and/or Linux).
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS SysOps Administrator.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
