Job Summary
The EHR Training Specialist is responsible for supporting end-user training, workflow adoption, and go-live readiness activities for large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementations. This role delivers instructor-led training, facilitates classroom and virtual learning sessions, provides end-user support, and promotes adoption of role-based workflows and system functionality. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare technology experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver instructor-led training for end users on EHR workflows and system functionality.
• Facilitate classroom, virtual, and hands-on training sessions for clinical, administrative, and financial users.
• Support end-user readiness and workflow adoption throughout the EHR implementation lifecycle.
• Provide at-the-elbow support during go-live activities to ensure successful user adoption.
• Reinforce role-based workflows and best practices to improve system utilization.
• Collaborate with project teams, clinical leaders, and business stakeholders to support training initiatives.
• Assist in preparing training materials, user guides, job aids, and supporting documentation.
• Evaluate user readiness and identify opportunities to improve training effectiveness.
• Respond to user questions and provide ongoing training support during implementation and post-go-live.
• Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
• Support multiple implementation waves while managing competing priorities.
• Promote a positive learning environment and deliver excellent customer service throughout the training process.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience delivering end-user training in healthcare, Health IT, or enterprise software environments.
• Experience supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), or healthcare information systems.
• Experience conducting instructor-led, classroom, and virtual training sessions.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience supporting adult learning and creating engaging learning environments.
• Strong customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel and work onsite as required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and virtual training platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting enterprise EHR implementations and go-live events.
• Experience in behavioral health, public health, community health, or healthcare delivery environments.
• Familiarity with role-based workflow training methodologies.
• Experience providing at-the-elbow support during healthcare system deployments.
• Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle, financial workflows, and administrative processes.
• Training certifications such as ATD, CPTD, CTT+, or equivalent.
