Position Summary:
The LMSW, LPC-Associate, LCSW, or LPC is responsible for delivering group psychotherapy and psychoeducational services to Mindful Health clients, either in person or through a virtual platform. In addition to facilitating therapeutic groups, the clinician supports various aspects of care, treatment, and service delivery in alignment with their professional licensure and scope of practice. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, ethical standards, and a commitment to client-centered care across diverse settings.
Education amp; Experience:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, Counseling, or a related behavioral science field from an accredited college or university
  • Active clinical license in the State of Texas (LMSW, LPC-Associate, LCSW, or LPC)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical assessment and diagnosis, with a focus on treating and preventing mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges
  • Active supervision plan with an LCSW-S or LPC-S, if applicable
  • Current CPR certification

Job Duties:
  • Provide group psychotherapy and psycho-educational according to PHP/IOP program schedule.
  • Co-facilitate family therapy sessions with clients in the PHP or IOP program, per program guidelines.
  • Develop and review discharge plan with the client and family, as appropriate, per discharge planning policy (MH CS 007).
  • Complete psychosocial assessment within 72 hrs. of admission to PHP or IOP.
  • Assist in developing the interdisciplinary treatment plan, with clients in PHP/IOP programming, outlining focus for treatment, goals, and interventions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings with PHP/IOP clients.
  • Document all clinical encounters with clients and groups clearly and concisely, demonstrating the therapeutic process.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of utilization review issues, criteria for continued stay, and discharge.
  • Demonstrate ongoing evaluation of clients’ diagnosis, psychosocial stressors, strengths, and opportunities for growth.
  • Evaluate clients’ progress using identified outcome measures and discuss with the treatment team.
  • Assist client and family with PHP/IOP discharge planning, including community resources and referrals.
  • Discuss day to day programing with other clinicians to ensure quality care.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and staff.
  • Ensures client satisfaction and participates in addressing issues if they arise.
  • Maintain a positive, professional image in the office and in the community.
  • Participate in QA/QI process, ensuring that services are evidenced based, and treatment is evidence informed.
  • Maintain regular work hours, being on time and managing time well.
  • Demonstrates personal characteristics of patience, tact, cheerfulness and enthusiasm toward the administration and clients. Must be able to appropriately respond to all types of behavior.
  • Complete thorough documentation for client care PHP/IOP admit orders and PHP/IOP discharge orders
  • Reporting necessary clinical information to physicians and nurse practitioners
  • Respond and assist in the event of a medical emergency
  • Any additional duties that facilitate the effective operations of the programs and services provided include but not limited to individual, couples or family therapy services.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience in the therapeutic milieu.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and state and federal regulations related to care, treatment, and services.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, and other laws applicable to mental health services.
  • Knowledge of continuous process improvement concepts and practices.
  • Emotional intelligence and empathy, as demonstrated by the ability to identify with and understand another person’s point of view and ask the right questions to determine the focus for treatment.
  • Communication, as demonstrated by the ability to clearly convey, both verbally and in writing, detailed directions, describe processes in understandable terms, and concise documentation of the therapeutic process.
  • Active listening skills, as shown by interpreting verbal and non-verbal cues, determine the treatment focus and understand information from colleagues and other mental health professionals.
  • Critical thinking skills, as demonstrated by using creative problem-solving as part of the therapeutic process to find the best available options for clients.
  • Organizational skills, as demonstrated by making sure each case is updated in a timely manner with the correct information and cases are prioritized based on client needs.
  • Cultural competency, as demonstrated by being sensitive to diverse ideas, views, and beliefs, seeking to learn more about others while understanding one’s own background and beliefs.
  • Boundary setting, as demonstrated by setting boundaries in the clinician-client relationship but also in establishing a good work-life balance.
  • Professionalism, as demonstrated by constantly learning and developing better ways to serve clients and the community. Using knowledge gained to improve services with clients, families, and groups.
  • Time management, as demonstrated by giving clients the attention they need both in interpersonal interaction but also in completing documentation in a timely manner.
  • Advocacy, as demonstrated by verbally representing clients in connecting with services, resources, and opportunities, especially for clients who may not know how to advocate for themselves.

Mindful Health offers a comprehensive benefits package to support the well-being and professional development of our employees. This position is eligible for the following benefits:
