What is a virtual interview?

A virtual interview is a job interview that takes place remotely using technology such as video conferencing software, phone calls, or online chat platforms. Instead of meeting in person, candidates and interviewers connect from different locations, making the process more convenient and accessible. Virtual interviews are commonly used by employers to streamline hiring, reach a wider pool of candidates, and save time and travel expenses. Preparing for a virtual interview involves ensuring a stable internet connection, testing your audio and video equipment, and choosing a quiet, professional setting.

What is the 70 30 rule in hiring?

The 70/30 rule in hiring suggests that 70% of the decision should be based on a candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications, while 30% should consider cultural fit and soft skills. For virtual interviewers, understanding this balance helps in assessing both technical competence and interpersonal qualities effectively.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

A virtual interview role typically involves conducting remote interviews for companies, and earning $2000 a week depends on factors like experience, the number of interviews conducted, and pay rates, which can range from $15 to $50 per hour. To reach this income level, professionals often work full-time hours, develop strong communication skills, and may need certifications or experience in HR or recruiting. Building a client base or working with staffing agencies can also increase earning potential.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Virtual Interviewer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Virtual Interviewer, you need strong interpersonal skills, interviewing techniques, and relevant experience in talent acquisition or human resources. Familiarity with video conferencing platforms (such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and digital scheduling tools is typically required. Excellent communication, active listening, and adaptability make someone stand out in this role. These abilities ensure effective candidate assessments, smooth virtual interactions, and successful recruitment outcomes in a remote environment.

Job description

Our mission and why it matters
We are on a mission to make humans the strongest security layer.
Human risk remains one of the biggest vulnerabilities and traditional awareness training is not enough. We take a different approach by combining AI-driven personalization, real threat detection, and behavioral science to actively protect people and organizations.
We don't just simulate risks. We build the tools that detect and stop them.
About this role
We are looking for a Sales Development Representative to join our team in the United States. This is a critical role in driving our international growth, helping us connect with new customers and expand our presence in a rapidly growing cybersecurity market.
As a Sales Development Representative at Hoxhunt, you'll focus on generating new business opportunities through outbound prospecting and booking meetings for our Account Executives. You'll work closely with both Sales and Marketing, building the foundation for pipeline growth while developing the skills needed to grow into a high-performing sales professional.
What you'll do
  • Generate pipeline through proactive outbound prospecting across phone, email, LinkedIn, and events.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads, identifying strong opportunities for the sales team.
  • Book high-quality meetings for Account Executives to support revenue growth.
  • Partner closely with Marketing and Sales to align on messaging, campaigns, and target accounts.
  • Continuously refine your outreach approach based on feedback, data, and results.

What success looks like
  • In your first 30 days, you'll learn Hoxhunt's product, value proposition, and sales process while building strong prospecting habits.
  • By day 60, you'll start owning outbound activity, qualifying leads, and booking meetings with target accounts.
  • By day 90 and beyond, you'll consistently create pipeline by running effective outreach and partnering closely with Account Executives.

What we're looking for
  • Results-Oriented: You're motivated by goals and have a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Curious Learner: You're eager to grow your skills and develop a strong foundation in SaaS sales.
  • Proactive & Structured: You bring a focused, organized approach to your work and take initiative.
  • Strong Communicator: You're articulate and confident across written and verbal channels.
  • Customer-Focused: You quickly understand business needs and connect them to value.
  • Relevant Experience (preferred): Exposure to cold calling, lead generation, or SaaS sales is a plus.

Bonus Points
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and follows through on commitments.
  • Ambitious and motivated to build a long-term career in sales or business development.
  • Resilient and adaptable, able to learn quickly and improve with feedback.
  • A team player who contributes to a positive, high-performing environment.

Who you'll work with
At Hoxhunt, we don't just build software. We build behavior change on a global scale. With a world-class product and strong global growth, we help organizations create a culture of cybersecurity, one employee at a time.
You'll join a collaborative team in our Minneapolis office, working closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and leadership. It's a hands-on environment where you'll gain visibility, build foundational sales skills, and make an impact early.
What you can expect from us
  • Compensation: Annual base salary of $50k-$56k depending on experience, plus a competitive commission model with on-target earnings of $68k-$74k.
  • Working ways: We work in a flexible, hybrid setting. Most roles include regular in-office time, typically three days per week.
  • High performance meets high humanity: We're a high-performing team with ambitious goals and a strong focus on impact. Just as important, we create an environment where people feel supported, respected, and empowered to succeed together.
  • Authentic trust & autonomy: We hire great people and trust them to do great work. You'll find a culture that values autonomy, giving you the space to take real ownership, drive impact, and help shape things early on.
  • A product you can be proud of: It is incredibly rare in cybersecurity to build an award-winning product that end-users genuinely love. You will join a fast-paced, technically sophisticated team making a real, measurable impact against cybercrime.
  • The perks that matter: Alongside this amazing community, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage (with a portion of premiums covered by the company), life insurance, PTO, 11 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays, wellness benefits, paid parental leave, a 401(k) match, and more.

Recruitment Process
We want to get to know you and how you think!
Our interview process typically includes:
  1. Initial virtual interview with Talent Acquisition (30 min, remote)
  2. Virtual interview with the Hiring Manager (45 min, remote)
  3. Final panel interview with Sales Leadership at our Edina office (1 hour, onsite)
  4. Offer
  5. References & Background Check
