The University of the Cumberlands applicants to serve as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Art. Under the direction of the Chairof the Art program and theMusic and Fine ArtsDepartmentChair, this positionis responsible forteaching undergraduateart education and art appreciationin-seat at the Williamsburg, Kentucky campus.This is not an online teaching position. The University of the Cumberlands is a faith-based institution that welcomes students from all backgrounds. Its mission is to offer high-quality academic programs that empower graduates to "seek a life more abundant."

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teachcourses including, but not limited to,ART 331 School Art, ART 430 Art in the Secondary School, and ART 131 Art Appreciation
  • Collaborate with colleagues in theMusic and Fine Arts Departmentand throughout the university.
  • Adapt and align course materials using departmental syllabus templates,requiredtext(s), and other resources.
  • Provide regular andtimelyfeedback on student work.
  • Maintain regular communication with students through virtual office hours and e-mail.
  • Maintain clear, consistent records in Blackboard Ultra and the university's online record keeping platform
  • Participate in department-wide assessments.
  • Respond to student evaluations.
  • Follow university policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mastersdegree inArt Education
  • Student-focused teaching that addresses the needs of all learners
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ed.D. in Art Education
  • Experience with a variety of pedagogical and technological educational delivery methods.
  • Active creative/scholarly work
