Job Description Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is looking to hire a Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician supporting the Air National Guard (ANG) Distributed Training Operations Center (DTOC) in Des Moines, IA. This candidate will join a robust IT team that supports all Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) events, mission networks, site connections support activities, cyber security and other related functions. Essential Job Responsibilities The NOC Technician will be responsible for performing assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identifies systems and networks that deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy, evaluating incident response procedures and capabilities and monitoring, controlling, and isolating problems in a data communications network. One will also monitor all network activity, activate/deactivate network lines according to established schedules, perform first- and/or second-level problem determination (first level is help desk) and interface with users and/or network vendors. Other duties include, but are not limited to the following: * Configuration for all DMO events. * Initial account creation for all DTOC mission networks. * Monitoring the health of mission networks. * Monitoring status of circuits. * Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems. * Assign, modify and delete passwords and user privileges. * Implement client workstations software patches, security fixes and service releases. * Provide first level of SIEM notification support. * ANG OTTI Tier 1 help desk support. Minimum Qualifications * 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience. * Experience providing help desk support. * Experience in basic Microsoft Windows system and user account administration. * Experience in basic network monitoring and identifying/mitigating potential network outages. * Must be able to become expert user of DIS Gateway Core and GUI, to provide expert understanding of connectivity between remote sites to the DTOC, and to the Event Control Center. * Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting DIS/HLA packets with Wireshark, DPA, or similar software tools. * Basic understanding of continuous monitoring methodologies and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and first phase analysis of security scans. * Basic understanding of DIS/HLA IP-based radio communication solutions, and commonly used simulation Image and Environment Generator applications. * Must have a CompTIA Security + Certification or IAT level II equivalent. * DISA ACAS Training/Certified. * Must have a current or active DoD secret security clearance. * Must be a U.S. Citizen. Preferred Requirements * Working knowledge or experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) * Knowledge of PC operations in Linux and Windows NT based operating systems * Experience with operating systems and relational database management systems such as SQL Server * Expertise in principles, practices, and techniques in the install and maintenance of hardware * Current Top Secret Clearance Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
