POSITION SUMMARY

MGS is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer (Citrix) to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of an enterprise Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment within a secure, cloud-native platform supporting national security missions. In this role, you will deliver scalable, high-performance virtual desktop solutions while maintaining Linux and Windows cloud-based infrastructure, COTS applications, and enterprise computing services across a DevSecOps-driven Agile environment. Working alongside engineering, cybersecurity, and mission experts, you will implement secure-by-default configurations, drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, and keep critical environments running at the highest level.

RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) infrastructure in a 100% cloud environment, including Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, NetScaler/ADC, and supporting components.
  • Implement and manage Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) or Machine Creation Services (MCS) for desktop image management; manage Virtual Delivery Agents (VDAs), hypervisors, and storage systems.
  • Optimize VDI performance through monitoring, capacity planning, and resource allocation; configure and manage user profiles using FSLogix.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows cloud-based infrastructure, COTS applications, and enterprise computing services as IaC and AaC.
  • Configure IdAM, Active Directory, and LDAP resources with platform applications.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the VDI and infrastructure stack using log file analysis and root-cause analysis.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans; prepare and maintain technical documentation including user guides, infrastructure diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and end-users to design and maintain application interfaces and platform solutions.
  • Develop within an Agile scrum team following DevSecOps principles and configuration management standards.
  • Prepare technical presentations for government and senior leadership.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • Must meet DoD 8140 requirements, including Security+ CE certification.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM field. Experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years of experience deploying and maintaining platform infrastructure and COTS applications in cloud-based environments.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, including expert knowledge of Citrix architecture, components, and deployment methodologies.
  • Experience with hypervisor platforms including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Citrix Hypervisor.
  • Proficiency with Citrix NetScaler/ADC configuration and management.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
  • Experience with cloud architecture, system design, and enterprise workflow or automation platform integration.
  • Experience supporting IdAM technologies including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC.
  • Experience with DevOps tooling including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and GitLab.
  • Familiarity with containerized development environments including Rancher and Kubernetes.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Citrix Certified Professional, Virtualization (CCP-V) or higher.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments and tools.
  • Experience optimizing cloud-hosted solutions and supporting Azure or similar environments.
  • Experience configuring and instrumenting monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana and Splunk.
  • Experience implementing and integrating ServiceNow solutions.
  • Familiarity with customer security requirements and processes within classified environments.
  • Experience supporting virtualization technologies and application streaming or layering techniques.
  • Experience leading from a total system perspective across cloud services, infrastructure, and security domains.
  • Experience integrating complex systems using APIs, message queues, and ETL pipelines.
