What does a virtual fitness trainer do?

A Virtual Fitness Trainer is a professional who guides clients through exercise routines, health advice, and fitness plans remotely using digital platforms like video calls, apps, or online programs. They assess clients' fitness levels, set personalized goals, and provide ongoing support and motivation. Virtual trainers make fitness accessible regardless of location, offering flexibility and convenience while still delivering expert guidance to help clients achieve their health and wellness objectives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a virtual fitness trainer?

To thrive as a Virtual Fitness Trainer, you need a solid background in exercise science, personal training certification, and experience designing fitness programs for diverse populations. These skills ensure effective instruction, client retention, and positive outcomes in the digital fitness environment.

How do virtual fitness trainers maintain client engagement and motivation in a remote setting?

They tailor workout plans to fit individual goals and provide real-time feedback during sessions. Job description

Group Fitness Trainer

Location: Westlake Village, CA

Employment Type: Part-Time, On-Site

Company: Queen of Wands Fitness LLC, Franchise Owners of Bünda Westlake Village

Website: https://www.trainbunda.com/locations/westlake-village/

About Bünda Westlake Village

BÜNDA Westlake Village is a high-energy boutique group fitness studio that has quickly built a strong, loyal community since opening in January 2025. Our signature workout combines 1⁄2 StairMaster + 1⁄2 strength training, using progressive overload and steady-state cardio to deliver challenging, results-driven classes.

At BÜNDA Westlake, our trainers are the heartbeat of the studio. We’re looking for coaches who can command a room, bring incredible energy and connect with our members — while delivering a safe, effective and technically strong workout.

Our trainers know their members, celebrate their progress, push them to work harder and help create the energy and community that keeps people coming back.

We’re looking for trainers who bring personality, expertise, confidence, authenticity, and a genuine passion for people every time they step into the studio.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and team-oriented Part-Time Group Fitness Trainer to join the Bünda team at our Westlake Village, CA studio. The ideal trainer is confident leading a room, understands the fundamentals of effective strength and cardio training, creates an engaging class experience, and genuinely enjoys connecting with members. You should be comfortable working within Bünda's preprogrammed workout structure while bringing your own personality, coaching style, and energy to the room.

This is an on-site position with availability required for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays. There may be opportunities to also train at our studio in Camarillo should there be a need and available hours.

Candidates will be invited to audition for the role and then must complete the Bünda trainer training week in addition to community classes before officially being placed on the schedule.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and motivate members through Bünda's pre-programmed workouts.
  • Create an energetic, inclusive, and motivating class environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and promptly respond to members' needs and concerns.
  • Build positive relationships with class participants and foster a strong sense of community.
  • Teach challenging, entertaining, and effective group fitness classes.
  • Coach proper form and technique while providing appropriate modifications, alternate movements, progressions, and regressions.
  • Educate members on the purpose and methodology behind the workout.
  • Listen attentively to clients, answer questions, and engage with members before and after class.
  • Arrive on time and be fully prepared for all scheduled classes and team meetings, both in-person and virtual.
  • Provide and maintain current, high-energy playlists with appropriate language for the studio environment.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming studio before and after class.
  • Contribute positively to the team and support the overall Bünda member experience.
  • Represent the Bünda brand and training philosophy with professionalism and enthusiasm.

What We're Looking For

  • Current Personal Training Certification from an accredited organization such as ACE, NSCA, NASM, or IDEA.
  • Successful completion of Bünda's online and in-person trainer training program.
  • Intermediate understanding of the training principles behind Bünda's workouts, particularly progressive overload and steady-state cardio.
  • Current AED/CPR certification.
  • Ability to safely lift at least 40 lbs.
  • Availability to teach early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Previous group fitness teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High energy, positive attitude, and a genuine passion for helping people reach their goals.
  • Reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and a strong team mentality.
  • Ability to coach a diverse range of fitness levels while maintaining a fun and challenging class experience.

Compensation

Bünda's trainer compensation is designed to reward both class leadership and member engagement, while also compensating trainers for the important work that happens before and after class.

Base Class Rate + Per-Head Bonus

Trainers receive a class rate for each class taught, plus an additional per-head bonus based on class attendance.

This structure means trainers have the opportunity to increase their earnings as they build strong relationships with members, deliver exceptional classes, and help grow class participation.

Additional opportunities may be available based on schedule, studio needs, performance, and experience.

Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and Bünda's current trainer compensation schedule.

Trainer Benefits

Extended Education & Trainer Development

We invest in our trainers beyond their initial onboarding. Trainers have access to extended education and Trainer Development Labs designed to deepen coaching skills, expand knowledge of the Bünda training methodology, and support continued professional growth.

Standby Unlimited Studio Membership

Trainers receive a standby free unlimited Bünda studio membership, providing an opportunity to train at the studio and stay connected to the workouts, community, and Bünda experience.

Why Bünda?

We're looking for trainers who want to be part of something bigger than simply teaching a class. At Bünda, you'll join a team that values great coaching, member connection, continuous education, accountability, and community. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills, build meaningful relationships with members, and help create an experience that keeps people coming back.

If you're an energetic and knowledgeable trainer who loves coaching people, thrives in a team environment, and wants to grow with a performance-focused boutique fitness brand, we'd love to meet you.
