The Role
As the Lead Associate, Culture & Engagement, you will be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will play a critical role in advancing a culture of inclusion, belonging, and employee engagement across the organization. This individual will serve as a central connector between Connection Groups, new employees, and broader engagement initiatives- ensuring every employee feels seen, valued, and included in our mission.

What You will Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Inclusion & Belonging (50%)
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the agency's Inclusion & Belonging strategy.
  • Act as the primary liaison and support system for all Connection Groups, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support the creation, implementation, and tracking of Connection Group annual workplans.
  • Collaborate with Connection Group Leads and Internal Communications to develop and execute a comprehensive annual communications strategy highlighting group initiatives and impact.
  • Partner with Talent Development Advisors to design and deliver leadership development training for Connection Group leads, fostering inclusive leadership practices.

New Employee Onboarding and Orientation (20%):
  • Coordinate operations of new employee onboarding and orientation program with Talent Attraction and Acquisition team to ensure new employees feel welcomed, informed, and connected.
  • Coordinate and facilitate bi-monthly new employee orientation and monthly new employee brown bags.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the onboarding process to align with organizational culture to strengthen integration and retention.

Employee Engagement and Experience (30%):
  • Support the planning, implementation, and communication of the annual Engagement Survey and supplemental Pulse Surveys, including logistics, vendor collaboration, and the distribution of results to leaders and employees.
  • Coordinate and track the post-survey action planning process, ensuring clarity, accessibility, accountability, and follow-through on engagement commitments across teams.
  • Work cross-functionally to support both in-person and virtual engagement strategies.
  • Plan and execute employee events including staff annual Founder's Day celebrations and in-office connection activities.
  • Communicate People & Culture initiatives and progress across the organization.

Required qualifications for the role:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Professional level of specialized knowledge to manage complex tasks, programs or projects
  • Ability to work independently, organize and set priorities and handle multiple tasks
  • Experience organizing and facilitating staff training
  • Experience with learning management systems, survey tools, collaboration tools and HRIS systems
  • Strong analytical skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization
  • Creative thinker with a passion for culture-building and fostering belonging
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred qualifications for the role
  • Experience in non-profit industry
  • Experience with virtual and hybrid event planning

Compensation
Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:
  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $72,250 - $80,750 base salary

  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $65,450 - $73,150 base salary
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $59,500 - $66,500 base salary

The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
