Description

The Admission Counselor, Marketing Specialist is responsible for a broad range of recruitment, admission, and marketing-related efforts for the Office of Admission at Saint Mary's. This position coordinates recruitment and admission efforts for prospective students and represents the College at both virtual and in-person high school visits, community college visits, college day/night events, open houses, and college fairs. The Admission Counselor will contact and meet with prospective students, give admission presentations, review applications for admission, serve as a member of the Admission Committee, and occasionally provide campus tours. The position also serves as an integral member of the admission marketing team and supports undergraduate student recruitment marketing initiatives.

Key responsibilities include assisting the admission marketing team with communication efforts to prospective undergraduate students, parents, and high school counselors; designing and implementing marketing campaigns; writing, editing, and designing email and print campaigns; creating marketing and web content; and coordinating recruitment communications and print mailings.

The Admission Counselor manages assigned geographic territories, recruits diverse and academically talented students, counsels prospective students and families throughout the admission process, evaluates applications for admission, and participates in recruitment events and follow-up activities. The successful candidate will maintain accurate recruitment records, participate in professional development opportunities, and contribute to enrollment management initiatives while effectively communicating the value of a Catholic, residential, women's college experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including written and oral communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate the value of a Catholic, residential, women's college experience for prospective undergraduate students.
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to develop creative marketing content.
Experience utilizing traditional and digital marketing tools.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to travel independently and navigate unfamiliar environments.
Ability to make presentations to individuals and groups and maintain effective communication with students, parents, alumnae, and guidance counselors.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and Google Docs, including spreadsheets, and the ability to learn new systems and databases.
Must possess a valid driver's license and successfully complete criminal background and moving violation checks.
Must be willing to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Spanish speaking language skills strongly preferred.
Previous experience in college admission, recruitment, marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
Experience developing print, email, and web-based marketing campaigns preferred.
Experience working in an enrollment management or higher education environment preferred.
Demonstrated creativity, high energy, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team preferred.

 

Eligibility to Work: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and must not require visa sponsorship from the College, either now or in the future.

Schedule

40 Hours / 12 Months / Monday - Friday with frequent evening, weekend, and travel responsibilities required to support recruitment, admission, and marketing activities.notre dame
