Job description

Summary

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. With more than 90 years of experience, the company delivers design-build, engineering, prefabrication, virtual design (VDC), construction, and building automation solutions across a wide range of commercial and institutional markets.

Projects include commercial offices, healthcare, life science, laboratories, biotech, K-12, higher education, military, manufacturing, hospitality, industrial, and tenant improvement work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Oversee HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal scopes throughout project execution
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, fabrication, and field operations
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation
  • Work closely with VDC, engineering, prefabrication, and field teams throughout project delivery
  • Coordinate design-build projects from concept through commissioning
  • Track job costs, billing, forecasting, and overall financial performance
  • Conduct owner, architect, consultant, and subcontractor meetings
  • Support project turnover including punch lists, O&M manuals, as-builts, and closeout documentation

Requirements
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience with a mechanical contractor
  • Strong experience managing commercial HVAC projects required
  • Experience with plumbing, sheet metal, ductwork, and mechanical piping preferred
  • Design-build project experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost control
  • Experience coordinating VDC/BIM, fabrication, engineering, and field operations preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills
