Job description

Pharmacy Project Tech
Position Summary
Performs extensive administrative functions to support departmental operations. As a certified pharmacy technician, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders/prescriptions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and performs department needs for projects, reporting, research, meetings, and committee work
  • Provides department administrative support, including scheduling of staff
  • Performs functions related to auditing both inter- and intra-departmental processes, and/or completes audit requests from external entities
  • Participates in Standard Operating Procedure development and posting as assigned
  • Participates in the development and training of pharmacy technicians
  • Performs duties of a Certified Pharmacy Technician, including inventory and supply management
  • Communicates effectively with customers
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of the department functions and processes
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician license with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy
  • Must have Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status through an organization approved by the Idaho Board of Pharmacy
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a pharmacy technician required
  • Demonstrated expertise in pharmacy systems
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer skills including keyboarding and practical data entry into data based software programs
  • BLS required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, America Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
