The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:
Position: FRPS Tutoring Center Tutor
Job Goal: The FRPS Tutoring Center tutor will offer academic and social-emotional support to students unable to
attend regular in-person classes from 4-6 PM. Tutors provide structured, personalized instruction via the FRPS chosen virtual
curriculum/platform, in both individual and small-group settings, with a focus on continuity, wellness, and integration
of services.
Required Qualifications:
1. Teaching certification or equivalent credential in core academic area, ESL, special education, or School
Adjustment Counselor
2. Skilled in differentiated instruction and accommodating IEP/MLL/504 needs.
3. Experience working with youth, preferably in an educational or support services setting
4. Knowledgeable in social-emotional learning and wellness monitoring.
5. Strong communicator, adept at family collaboration and virtual/in-person instruction.
6. Comfortable using technology including the FRPS chosen virtual curriculum/platform, Google Suite, and
virtual meeting platforms
7. Understanding of barriers students may face as it relates to accessing traditional pathways
8. Organized, flexible, and student-centered.
Performance Responsibilities:
? Deliver core academic support for FRPS chosen virtual curriculum/platform coursework (in-person and via
Google Meet).
? Provide tailored instruction based on learning goals, IEP/504 accommodations, and homebound
circumstances.
? Monitor student progress in virtual platform and manage student courses through the FRPS chosen virtual
curriculum/platform
? Conduct weekly wellness checks to monitor social-emotional needs.
? Track student progress, milestones, and engagement to support student transition back to the classroom.
? Communicate regularly with families to update on student attendance and progress through the use of
the FRPS chosen virtual curriculum/platform progress reports.
The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an
acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be
shared with the Fall River School Committee.
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Student Support and Strategic Integration
Schedule: 4:00-6:00 PM
Salary & Terms of Employment: Contractual Rate and in accordance with the FREA & FRAA contracts
