Safety Coordinator

Job Title: Safety Coordinator
Job Location: Austin, TX
Job Salary: 85k - 100k + Benefits
Requirements: Safety, Heavy Civil, OSHA 500, OSHA 510, BCSP, CSHO

Based in Austin, TX, we are an established heavy civil construction general contractor specializing in large-scale, complex infrastructure projects across diverse markets.

Due to growth, we are looking for a Safety Coordinator in Austin, TX. This position will be involved in planning, implementing, and overseeing the field safety program by monitoring construction projects for compliance with federal, state, and Owner required safety rules and regulations, and Company safety policy.
Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and Company policies.

  • Identify, document, and recommend abatement of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions and follow-up to ensure timely hazard abatement.

  • Utilize internal safety management systems and tools to write reports to field supervisory and project management staff detailing hazards and abatement techniques.

  • Monitor prime contractor and/or subcontractor's safety programs and may recommend specific solutions to abate/reduce hazardous conditions and follow-up to ensure timely hazard abatement.

  • Attend pre-planning and progress meetings to coordinate project-specific safety protocol.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience required, preferably within heavy civil construction or related industries.

  • OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 Certification 

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.

Preferred: 

  • First Aid/CPR Instructor Certification

  • BCSP Certification; STS, CHST (Preferred)

  • CSHO
