DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Family Support and Education Program provides safe, child-centered services that support healthy family relationships and child well-being. Through supervised family time, safe exchanges, and evidence-based parenting education, the department offers both in-person and virtual services designed to prioritize safety, emotional health, and positive parent-child connections. Guided by the belief that every family has strengths and every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment, the department works to prevent family violence and support families through education, supervision, and community collaboration.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Visitation and Exchange Specialist supports the safety and well-being of children and families by providing compassionate, trauma-informed supervised visitation and safe exchange services. This position ensures services are delivered professionally, maintains accurate and confidential records, fosters positive relationships with families and community partners, collects program data, and upholds agency policies, court requirements, and mandated reporting responsibilities while contributing to a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

  • Report any suspected cases of child abuse to the appropriate agencies as required as a mandated reporter.
  • Participate in staff meetings and other training as required by the agency and the program.
  • Accept payment from clients.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, translate and write in the following language(s):
    • English
    • Spanish preferred
