Job Title

Pay Range: $100hr - $110hr

Requirement/Must Have
  • RN with current license to practice in California, NP preferred.
  • At least 3+ years of experience with injury case management in a clinical occupational health setting.
  • Strong familiarity with California Workers’ Compensation processes.
  • Effective diagnostic and decision-making skills in area of Occupational and Environmental Health nursing.
  • Experience in implementing evidence-based occupational health programs in global corporate, research, and manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations including OSHA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA and medical recordkeeping.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple occupational health projects effectively and simultaneously with high standards of professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in managing occupational health-related incidents.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect and interpret data to measure effectiveness of Occupational Health programs.
  • Strong computer skills and Telehealth experience is preferred.
  • Experience with case management software or platforms (e.g., OHM, Cority) preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
Responsibilities
  • Perform case management of work-related injuries/illnesses to ensure prompt and efficient coordination of care and return-to-work.
  • Support questions related to workplace restrictions/limitations.
  • Perform initial telephonic or virtual triage of workplace incidents using evidence-based protocols and clinical judgment to determine the most appropriate level of care (e.g., self-care guidance, clinic referral, or urgent care).
  • Conduct medical surveillance and fitness-to-work medical evaluations in alignment with regulatory requirements and in collaboration with clinic manager and OH medical director as needed.
  • Perform clinical visits for work-related injuries/illnesses. Duties include obtaining history, physical examination, formulating appropriate assessments and treatment plans, administering vaccines, vision, and other tests as needed, providing feedback and/or follow-up to patients in a timely fashion, and providing appropriate referrals to different specialties and/or subspecialty care in consultation with the medical director.
  • Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and occupational health management systems to document clinical visits, maintain medical records, and generate reports for compliance and program evaluation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support workplace incident investigations and mitigation of workplace health hazards.
  • Determine work-relatedness and causation of incidents and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations as part of OSHA Recordkeeping.
Education and Experience
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California with an active license and furnishing number is required.
  • BLS/CPR certificate is required.
  • Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC) is required within 6 months of hire.
  • Licensed as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner in the State of California is preferred.
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse-S (COHN-S) is preferred.
  • Graduate of a masters’ level nurse practitioner program with an emphasis in Occupational Health nursing is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health degree is preferred.
  • Case Management certification is preferred.
  • NIOSH-approved Spirometry certification is preferred.
