Virtual Call Center Trainee information

What is a virtual call center trainee?

Virtual Call Center Trainees are individuals who are in the process of learning the skills and procedures needed to handle customer service or support calls remotely. These trainees typically undergo training on company policies, communication techniques, software systems, and problem-solving strategies. Their work is conducted entirely online, allowing them to assist customers from any location with internet access. The goal is to prepare them for a full role as virtual call center agents who can efficiently resolve customer inquiries and issues.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a virtual call center trainee, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Virtual Call Center Trainee, you need strong communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and typically at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, VoIP phone systems, and online chat platforms is commonly required. Active listening, patience, and problem-solving abilities help you stand out by effectively addressing customer needs and building rapport. These skills ensure efficient service delivery, customer satisfaction, and adaptability in a remote work environment.

What are some common challenges faced by virtual call center trainees and how can they be overcome?

Virtual Call Center Trainees often face challenges such as adapting to remote work technology, managing time independently, and quickly learning customer service protocols. To overcome these, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the call center’s software through training resources, establish a dedicated and quiet workspace, and proactively seek feedback from supervisors and peers. Building strong communication skills and staying organized will also help you handle a high volume of calls and deliver excellent customer service, which are key to advancing within the role.

The Virtual Call Center Trainee is an entry-level position focused on training and skill development, often under supervision. Both roles are essential in the call center industry, with trainees preparing for full agent responsibilities.

Are You Ready to Make an Immediate Impact?

Babilou Family US is part of the global Babilou Family network and brings a local, community-focused approach to early childhood education through our Little Sprouts, Building Blocks, and Heartworks schools. We are looking for a proactive and collaborative team member who will support our mission and contribute meaningfully to this role.

The Academy Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality training and development experiences for participants enrolled in the Babilou Family Academy. Working closely with the Academy Director, this role facilitates the majority of Academy coursework, supports participant learning and engagement, evaluates skill development, and helps ensure participants are prepared for successful placement in schools. The Academy Trainer serves as a key resource and mentor throughout the participant journey while reinforcing company culture, educational quality standards, safety practices, and professional expectations.

Our work is guided by our educational approach, Sustainable Education®, which bridges research and daily practice to help children thrive and lay the foundation for lifelong learning. We’re in what we like to call the science of children. Everything we do is rooted in research about how young minds grow—how they learn, connect, and build the skills that last a lifetime. We also lead our HONOR values: Humility, Open-Mindedness, Nurture, Ownership, and Recognition. This guiding framework fosters an environment where educators, children, families, and partners feel valued, empowered, and inspired to grow.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Academy training sessions; facilitate classroom instruction, discussions, activities and practical learning experiences; prepare training materials; support guest facilitators; create an engaging learning environment.

  • Monitor participant progress, attendance and engagement; conduct assessments and observations; provide coaching and feedback; partner with the Academy Director regarding participant readiness and completion recommendations.

  • Build positive participant relationships; support onboarding and orientation activities; foster professionalism, accountability and continuous learning; celebrate participant achievements.

  • Support scheduling, logistics, classroom preparation, school observations and field training; maintain training records and completion tracking.

  • Partner with the Academy Director to improve curriculum, training materials, assessments and learning activities; provide feedback on training effectiveness.

  • Support school-based experiences and gather participant and leader feedback regarding readiness and Academy effectiveness.

Required & Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in training/learning and development, education or related fields.

  • Experience working in an early childhood education center strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience and success in delivering training programs.

  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, public speaking, and verbal and written communication skills.

  • Passion for employee development and workforce readiness.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with learning management systems a plus.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis.

  • Travel to other local schools and Home Office to facilitate trainings/observations, participate in meetings, or perform other Academy-related tasks as needed.

What we offer

We invest in our employees’ health, financial wellbeing, professional growth and family success through:

  • Up to 50% childcare tuition discount.
