Customer Business Manager, International

Are you a results-driven sales and strategic account management professional who knows how to grow customer relationships while maintaining strong ownership of the details required to deliver results? Do you have experience managing international customers, distributors, or strategic partners across multiple markets and time zones? Are you energized by identifying new products, channels, and geographic opportunities that create profitable growth?

FoodScience is a growing Vermont-based manufacturer of high-quality nutritional supplements for people and animals. We are seeking a Customer Business Manager, International who combines strong commercial judgment with organized execution, proactive communication, and dependable follow-through.

In this role, you will serve as the primary commercial partner for assigned international customers, distributors, and markets. You will be accountable for revenue growth, gross margin, customer retention, forecasting, and the development and execution of strategic customer and market plans. You will build a deep understanding of each customer's business, identify opportunities for expansion, and coordinate internal partners to support consistent service and successful execution.

The right person for this role can move comfortably between strategy and execution. You can develop a growth plan, analyze sales and margin performance, manage pricing and customer investments, maintain accurate forecasts, and ensure that customer commitments are communicated and followed through to completion. You are organized, commercially minded, culturally aware, and able to manage competing priorities without losing sight of the customer or the business results.

Current Market Scope:

This role is responsible for all animal supplement business outside the US. This includes a strong existing book of business, as well as prospecting new accounts. The product portfolio meets a wide range of customer needs as we offer branded product and white label products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-Develop Strategic Plans: Work directly with the VP of Global Pet Business to build structured, data-backed annual customer plans to hit precise revenue, profit, and margin goals.
  • Account Analytics & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date, accurate customer records, sales forecasts, and follow-up documentation in company systems. Use sales data analysis to track performance and refine strategy.
  • Client & Engagement: Maintain structured, consistent communication schedules with key accounts. Represent the business at trade shows, conferences, and business meetings (virtual or overnight travel).
  • Team Alignment: Coordinate daily with assigned Customer Care Representatives and internal cross-functional teams to ensure zero friction in account service levels and delivery.

Education and/or Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, International Business, Sales, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Core Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in sales, strategic account management, international business, distributor management, or a related commercial role preferred.
  • Industry Background: Experience in pet products, animal health, pet nutritional supplements, veterinary sales, or international pet distribution is strongly preferred.
  • Partner Management: Previous experience managing international pet industry customers, distributors, brokers, or strategic channel partners strongly preferred.
  • Sales Channels: Demonstrated experience working with pet retail, e-commerce, distributor, and commercial sales channels.
  • Equivalent Experience: An equivalent combination of education, relevant pet industry experience, and business success will be considered.
  • Language Skills: Spanish-language proficiency or other relevant multilingual capabilities preferred, but not required.
