Pay: Base Wage starting at $16.16; increased based on experience

Incentive Eligible Position: Yes
Essential Functions:

  • Accurately gathers information from patients admitted to the hospital pertaining to that patient's finances. This includes but is not limited to the behavioral health unit.
  • Accurately updates patient information such as insurance information and/or mailing addresses etc.
  • Determines and documents accounts if a patient qualifies for NRMC's financial assistance program.
  • Monitors un-paid accounts and marks them for bad debt.
  • Reaches out to patients to offer a financial aid packet.
  • Organizes and maintains accurate records of financial aide packets.
  • Monitors patient accounts who have filed for bankruptcy and determines if a claim needs filed.
  • Establishes reoccurring payments for patients.
  • Identifies accounts of deceased individuals and determines if a probate can/should be filed.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.

Skills Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
  • Ability to utilize best practice and procedures to assist in the care and wellbeing of patients served.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors.
  • Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Must adhere to the NRMC appearance and attire policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Some knowledge of healthcare billing.
  • Previous experience with bankruptcy/probate.
  • Previous cashier experience.
