Job description

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) provides direct and indirect patient care, specific to the age of the patient population served in the medical clinic. S/he works directly under the Physician or Advance Practice Provider (APP) license. S/he communicates with the Physician, APP, or nurse about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including the results of diagnostic studies and symptomology. S/he is able to perform general nursing duties with adequate supervision, and participates in performance improvement activities. S/he ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the Madisonhealth standard of care. S/he demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the clinic and organization. S/he remains flexible to changing systems and is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice. S/he treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.

  • Tuesday 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm

Required Skills:
1. Certification: Must maintain a current certification if s/he is a CMA.
2. Must demonstrate exemplary care of patient and profession respect for medical providers and co-workers.
3. Knowledgeable in medical terminology.
4. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and basic Windows based programs.
Minimum Work Experience:
1. A minimum of one year of work experience in a medical office is preferred.
Minimum Education:
1. High school diploma.
2. Graduate of an accredited school.
