Position: Office Assistant (Part-Time)
Department: Parks & Recreation
Division: Grounds Maintenance
Rate of Pay: $10.00/hour
Work Hours: Up to 20 per week
Nature of Work:
This position is ideal for a student or entry-level professional eager to learn about event management, office administration, and community recreation operations. The Office Assistant will support the Parks & Recreation team with daily administrative tasks, record keeping, and event planning activities while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a municipal setting.
Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with occasional assistance at outdoor or after-hours public events.
Examples of Work:
• Assist with planning, coordination, bookings for community and special events.
• Help maintain and organize office records, files, and lease agreements.
• Provide courteous and professional communication with residents, vendors, and city staff by phone, email, and in person.
• Collect and record rental fees, issue receipts, and maintain payment documentation.
• Assist with scheduling facility rentals and tracking related paperwork.
• Learn and apply city policies and administrative procedures.
• Provide general office support such as assisting with inventory reports, creating calendars, organization of supplies, etc.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
