This is an Administrative Medical Assistant role is in an administrative office building and there will no be direct patient contact
The Administrative Medical Assistant (MA/PSC) plays a vital role in supporting healthcare providers working in the field. This position involves a variety of administrative and clinical coordination tasks, including:
• Answering and managing incoming telephone calls
• Writing and faxing home draw orders
• Facilitating the virtual rooming process
• Faxing and scanning medical documents
• Processing DME (Durable Medical Equipment) orders with clinical note attachments
• Initiating prior authorizations for medications
• Managing referral intake and scheduling appointments
• Placing Trident orders for home diagnostic imaging
• Troubleshooting transportation issues for patients
• Coordinating with home health agencies
• Entering referrals and lab orders into Epic on behalf of providers
• Completing demographic sections of forms for provider signature during weekly visits
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role.
Qualifications:
ducation:
• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
Experience:
• In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
• Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
