Job description

Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a leading boutique law firm in its search for an Administrative Assistant to join its growing practice on a temp to hire basis. This position is required to work in the firm's office in Hartford, CT and will be responsible for the performance of clerical/administrative activities, both primary and as back-up to the legal administrative assistants and the receptionist. This position will perform a variety of administrative support duties, with limited supervision, and provide on-site overflow logistical assistance. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • General administrative support services
    • Provide onsite administrative coverage for CT, including both CT-based and visiting attorneys/staff
    • Accept and respond to legal administrative support requests, coordinating with on-site personnel in other offices where necessary
    • Maintain calendars and contacts
    • Room scheduling/reservations (individual and group meetings)
    • Make travel arrangements
    • Respond timely to emails requesting other assistance
  • Documentation
    • Proofread documents upon attorney request
    • Perform photocopying, scanning, faxing, binding, filing, etc.
    • Prepare legal correspondence, documents, electronic filings, etc.
    • Create and maintain files, prepare new client/matter forms; engagement letters, etc.
    • Create binders
  • Serve as backup legal admin and reception support during staff absences and office rotations
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of general office/administrative experience required, prior law firm experience is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • General knowledge of office equipment and tools
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and various document management tools
  • Ability to build rapport with attorneys and professional staff
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently but within a team environment
Hourly Pay Rate: Starting at $25/hour, commensurate with experience.
