How you'll contribute

Essential Functions

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

  • Documents patient care given.

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Non-Essential Functions

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (or) obtained within 90 days after hire date; Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification OR obtained after 6 months of nursery experience but prior to completing 12 months of nursery experience. Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation certification within 90 days after hire date.
  • Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Experience: One or more years of recent Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery experience preferred.
  • Licenses: Must have a current Utah RN license in the state of practice or Compact License with Utah endorsement 
  • Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
