Part-time, At-Will Position

2026-27 School Year

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Catholic School - Prudenville
The district is seeking a mentor to instruct at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Catholic School in Prudenville, MI through Oxford's shared-time programming.

The shared time mentor will oversee all aspects of the students' educational experience in partnership with the teachers of record. The primary responsibility of a mentor teacher is to monitor and ensure student progress while enrolled in Oxford Community Schools' non-essential courses through a non-public school.

Qualifications:ย 

  • Michiganย teacherย certificationย preferred.
  • Experienceย inย virtualย educationย isย preferred.
  • Proficientย withย variousย technologyย toolsย inย educationย orย theย abilityย to quickly learnย to use necessary technology required for the courses.
  • Abilityย toย connectย withย studentsย toย formย positive,ย encouragingย relationships.
  • Suchย alternativesย toย theย aboveย qualificationsย asย theย Boardย ofย Educationย mayย find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Overseeย andย encourageย studentย progressย inย allย Oxfordย courses.
  • Completeย studentย countย requirementsย forย districtย inย accordanceย withย the Michigan pupil accounting laws.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for teachers and families with questions regardingย Oxfordย Virtualย Academyย andย respondย inย aย timelyย manner.ย Mentorsย are required to respond to student inquiries within 12 hours of initial contact.
  • Assistย studentsย andย familiesย withย theย decisionย toย participateย inย onlineย learning.
  • Evaluateย studentย learningย andย implementย interventionsย asย necessary.
  • Functionย asย aย resourceย forย teachersย whenย studentย concernsย ariseย andย beย willing to assist with a plan of action.
  • Ensureย parentsย provideย writtenย permissionย forย studentsย toย enrollย inย onlineย courses.
  • Manageย technologyย utilizedย inย theย Oxfordย Virtualย coursesย andย actย asย theย initial point of contact for student technical questions.
  • Participateย inย trainingย asย requiredย byย Oxfordย Virtualย Academyย supervisor.

Reports to: Building Principal; Shared Time Program Services Coordinator

Salary: Payment amount for the mentor will be calculated based on the total number of Oxford Shared Time enrollments assigned to the mentor.

Schedule:ย Hours and schedule will be determined based on the requirements of the non-public school. Hours outside of the typical school day may be required.
