Summary of Position: The Anti-Violence Alliance office is seeking a student to assist them with creating new prevention initiatives and to amplify existing efforts on campus. This position is relevant for students pursuing degrees in communications, criminal justice, graphic design, social sciences, or women's studies.
Position Requirements: *Must display a commitment to sexual and relationship violence issues
*A passion and desire to make a difference
*Have a desire to learn about university prevention organizations and practices
*Must be organized, have strong attention to detail, and be able to complete projects independently
*Be enrolled at Ferris State University, taking at least 6 credits
*Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
*Have approval from the Office of Student Community Standards to join the program
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: *Generate a curriculum of events that would occur throughout the academic year
*Provide year-round awareness to ensure that changes in thoughts and actions are sustained long-term
*Attend all monthly Anti-Violence Alliance meetings
*Attend all mandatory training sessions (Including but not limited to dating/domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, public speaking, prevention best practices, how to facilitate the Bringing in the Bystander curriculum, and annual refresher training )
* Co-facilitate prevention/awareness programs or events each semester
*We are looking mainly for peer educators who are willing to present, but we can accept a few applicants who only want to create social media content.
