Job description

Nucor is North America's largest recycler and most diversified steel and steel products company. Since 1969, we've led the industry in developing innovative technologies for recycling scrap into high-quality steels that are all around us, from bridges and buildings to cars and appliances. Basic Job Functions: The primary responsibility of the Seamer Operator is to setup and operate the Oteman and cut material panels for our final product assembly. This position will also support our vinyl weld department and will be responsible for setup and operating the vinyl RF welder according to the production schedule. โ€ข Measure, review and layout materials per the order specifications. โ€ข Set up and program equipment and make any necessary changes. โ€ข Replenish materials and load into machine via the use of forklift or overhead crane. โ€ข Change out tooling when necessary. โ€ข Utilize software to program correct files according to the production schedule. โ€ข Cut material using Oteman or weld material using the vinyl RF welder. โ€ข Inspect and examine work pieces to ensure quality of material meets the requirement of the customer. โ€ข Perform repairs and preventive maintenance Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
