Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
 
The primary responsibilities of the Systems Service Technician include testing, troubleshooting, repair, operation, replacement, and cleaning within integrated Lighting, Audio, Video, and Control Systems installed at U.S. Based Customer Locations.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
 
  • Interact directly with end-users to gather information necessary to resolve system issues effectively and efficiently
  • Utilize knowledge of equipment and documentation to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain installed lighting and audiovisual systems and equipment
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain installed lighting and audiovisual systems and equipment consistent with company best practices and industry standards
  • Complete service ticket documenting all findings, course of action, and results
  • Provide preventative maintenance services for various system types and locations
  • Modify existing control, DSP, and lighting control programs, as necessary
  • May be assigned to assist on installations including rough-in of equipment, pull cable, rigging speakers, projectors, screens, and lighting fixtures, etc., setting racks, testing equipment, terminating cables, racks, wall plates and floor-boxes. Aiming speaker systems, setting gain structure, converging video projectors and video walls, and focusing/addressing lighting fixtures
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:
 
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.
 
  • Bachelors/Associates Degree/Certificate of Electronics Technology preferred
  • ETC Technician Certification preferred
  • Familiarity with soldering, use of standard tools, and generally assembly techniques
  • Knowledge of multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of ETC, Color Kinetic control Systems
  • Strong understanding of control protocols such as DMX, sACN, ArtNet, RDM, and other protocols.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and networking
  • Knowledge of signal flow
  • Ability to work alone
  • Ability to interact with customers
  • Must provide basic hand tools
  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • Must be ok with heights and occasional work on a lift
