Description

Are you passionate about video, hunting, shooting, and the outdoors? Do you have a strong eye for storytelling and the technical skills to bring ideas to life from concept through final edit?

Vortex is looking for an experienced Video Producer to create engaging, authentic, and visually compelling content that connects with the Vortex Nation. This is a hands-on role for a versatile video professional who can move seamlessly between pre-production, field production, and post-production, with a particular strength in editing and finishing.

The ideal candidate understands the hunting and shooting lifestyle and knows how to translate real-world experiences into compelling video content. You will collaborate with creative partners and internal teams to develop concepts, operate professional production equipment, capture footage in the field, and transform that footage into polished content for social, digital, product education, and brand storytelling.

This role requires someone who is equally comfortable behind the camera, applying strong post-production skills, and working in the field.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with creative and internal teams to develop video concepts that support Vortex brand and business objectives.
  • Develop concepts, scripts, storyboards, shot lists, and production plans.
  • Work with the Pre-Production Specialist to coordinate talent, locations, equipment, travel, and other production needs.
  • Operate professional cameras, lenses, lighting, microphones, audio equipment, teleprompters, and related video equipment.
  • Lead or support production in-studio and on location, capturing high-quality  video and audio for hunting, shooting, outdoor, product, interview, and lifestyle content.
  • Direct talent and manage production elements to achieve the creative vision.
  • Own post-production from footage organization through final delivery, including editing, sound design, color correction/grading, motion graphics, and final export deliverables.
  • Create engaging short- and long-form content optimized for social, web, YouTube, and other digital platforms, adapting content for multiple formats, aspect ratios, lengths, and platform specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, timelines, and established production workflows.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to incorporate feedback and ensure final content meets project objectives and Vortex brand standards.
  • Maintain organized project files, footage, audio, graphics, and final deliverables.
  • Stay current with evolving video production technology, editing techniques, formats, and trends.
  • Travel approximately 3-4 times per year for location shoots, with occasional additional travel as project needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-4 years of professional video production experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong video storytelling and editing.
  • Practical experience with hunting, shooting, and outdoor recreation.
  • Strong post-production skills with advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Demonstrated ability to take video projects from raw footage through polished final delivery.
  • Strong understanding of editing, storytelling, pacing, sound design, color correction/grading, and motion graphics.
  • Ability to independently operate cameras and audio equipment in studio and field environments.
  • Experience working through all phases of production: pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems creatively, and adapt to changing production environments.
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with company vehicle use policy.

What Success Looks Like

The successful Video Producer creates content that is authentic to the Vortex brand, relevant to our customers, and creatively compelling. They bring strong technical execution to every phase of production while taking ownership of projects and finding creative solutions to bring ideas to life.

They are equally capable of working independently in the field, collaborating with a production team, and sitting down in post-production to turn raw footage into finished stories that make people want to watch, learn, and engage.
