Job Purpose

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Video Production Manager leads the university’s visual storytelling efforts by creating high-impact video content for marketing, social media, admissions, fundraising and internal communications. This position develops, coordinates, directs, shoots, edits and produces compelling video projects that promote Winthrop University's brand, support marketing and enrollment objectives, and engage diverse audiences. The Video Production Manager oversees all phases of production, from concept development through post-production, while ensuring content aligns with university branding and quality standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Three years of videography experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Premier Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in videography, film production, media arts, journalism, mass communication or related field.
  • Videography experience in higher education or an agency setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Summary
  • Extensive knowledge of using professional cameras ( DSLR /mirrorless/cinema), lighting, and audio equipment.
  • Proficiency in video shooting and post-production editing techniques/standards.
  • Strong visual storytelling and composition skills.

  • Develops creative concepts, scripts, storyboards and shot lists to support marketing, communications and promotional campaigns.
  • Manages full production lifecycle, including production schedules, project timelines, on-location filming, lighting and sound recording.
  • Oversees post-production, including editing, color grading and motion graphics.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive visual content strategy aligned with university goals.
  • Ensures all content adheres to brand guidelines and visual identity.
  • Advises, manages, maintains, and secures high-value video and photography equipment and oversees the organization, maintenance, and archiving of video content and digital assets.
  • Retrieves and transmits visual files in multiple formats.
  • Stays current with industry trends and technologies.
  • Attends and supports events as requested.
Travel/Overtime Requirements

Occasional evenings and weekends.
