Video Teller information

What is a video teller?

Video Tellers are bank employees who assist customers remotely via video conferencing technology, often through an ATM or kiosk. They help with a variety of banking transactions and services such as deposits, withdrawals, account inquiries, and more, just as a traditional teller would in person. Video Tellers offer extended service hours and can provide personalized assistance in locations where full-service branches might not be available. This technology enhances convenience and accessibility for customers, bridging the gap between digital banking and face-to-face service.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a video teller?

To thrive as a Video Teller, you need strong customer service skills, a solid understanding of banking procedures, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with banking software, video conferencing systems, and cash handling tools is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities help Video Tellers provide a positive client experience remotely. These skills are crucial for efficiently assisting customers, maintaining security standards, and ensuring satisfaction in a digital banking environment.

How does a video teller typically collaborate with in-branch staff and remote banking teams?

Video Tellers often work closely with in-branch staff and remote banking teams to ensure seamless customer service across various channels. While their primary responsibilities involve assisting customers through video calls or interactive kiosks, they regularly coordinate with branch employees to resolve complex issues, handle transactions that require physical intervention, or escalate specialized requests. Effective communication, teamwork, and familiarity with digital banking platforms are essential for ensuring a smooth workflow and consistent customer experience. This collaborative environment also provides opportunities for learning and career advancement within the financial institution.
