Location: Albany, NY

Title: Video Shooter/ Editor

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000


About

The New York State Executive Chamber is looking for a Video Shooter/Editor to join our Digital-Creative Team. This team is responsible for managing and creating content for a variety of channels, including, but not limited to: social media, YouTube, email, website, and events. This position reports to the Director of Creative Strategy & Operations.

The Video Shooter/Editor will be responsible for creating video content for Governor Kathy Hochul’s and New York State’s digital presence and otherwise. This content will inform New Yorkers about the many initiatives and policies that impact their daily lives as well as update them on emergencies, breaking news and more.


Note: This role will sometimes involve traveling for shoots throughout the state as well as being on call after typical work hours including weekends.


Duties to include:

  • Shooting (including running any combination of camera, lights, audio, teleprompter, etc.) and editing shortform and longform video content for digital platforms and other distribution.
  • Reviewing event and news footage to find the appropriate soundbites and/or images to transform into effective digital videos.
  • Developing, pitching, and producing video concepts that adapt the administration’s messaging into compelling and captivating video content.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have 5-7+ years of experience in video editing and production and/or digital video content creation.
  • Have a professional familiarity with video production tools, including cameras, lights, audio, and editing software.
  • Have advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with a specialty in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Be able to share a portfolio of recent video productions and indicate their role in the process.
  • Have a great sense of organization, attention to detail, ability to act fast, and think on their feet.
  • Be familiar with various social media platforms (Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, etc.) and how video is used on those platforms.
  • Be up-to-date on the social media and digital trends of the moment.
