Job Summary
Remotely monitors patients and/or patient information using remote monitoring technology. Monitors and interprets heart rhythm or other patient data to detect variances from baseline. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances. Observes screen of cardiac monitor and informs Registered Nurse (RN) of variances to initiate examination of patient. Documents and posts information on patient records if applicable. Provides continuous observation and surveillance of multiple adult or pediatric patients via video monitoring technology. Requires patient interaction and redirection via remote video monitoring technology. Observes screen of video monitor and informs clinical bedside staff members of situations needing intervention. Answers call for inquiries concerning patients from medical staff and the patient care team.
Essential Functions
  • Monitors heart rhythm pattern of patients in the hospital to detect abnormal pattern variances, using telemetry equipment: Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances.
  • Observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm. Informs RN of variances to initiate examination of patient.
  • Measures length and height of patient's heart rhythm pattern, using calipers, and posts information on patient records.
  • Provides continuous observation and surveillance of multiple adult or pediatric patients via video monitoring technology.
  • Interacts with patients and redirects via video monitoring technology.
  • Answers calls for inquiries concerning patients from medical staff and the patient care team.
  • Maintains records by labeling, assembling, filing/distributing appropriate reports/documents, maintaining log order and other related duties.
  • Cleans environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department/unit personnel.
Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of relevant experience health care Preferred
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program Required
  • CRT-CPR - AHA American Heart Association Ludington
    90 Days required
