Position Title: Graphic Design and Video Specialist

About the Role:

AVANT Communications is looking for a temp-to-hire Design and Video Specialist to join our world-class marketing team in Chicago! The role is Chicagoland based and will focus on overall management and production of technical education content for our upcoming e-learning platform, AVANT Academy. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, has an extensive history with the Adobe Creative Suite, can work quickly and precisely to meet deadlines, and remains flexible while juggling multiple projects.


This role will report to our Director of Creative Services and work alongside the Marketing and Education teams to execute.


This is a full-time/Temp-to-hire position. Located in Chicago, currently expected to work from the office 1-3 days per week


What You'll Do:

Works with our education team and sponsoring vendors to schedule in-person recordings.

Manages video shoots, in our studio as well as on location (at events), and sets up cameras, lighting, mics, greenscreen and teleprompter equipment.

Edits and assembles video content, including raw footage, audio, sound effects, graphics, and animation, into a cohesive, polished final product, working within Premiere Pro and After Effects for keying, editing, and animating.

Maintains a high standard of video quality, ensuring all content is optimized for various platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, social media, internal use, etc.).

Ensures that video content aligns with brand guidelines, tone, and objectives.

Work with directors, producers, and other stakeholders to meet project deadlines and technical requirements.

Ensures the efficient management of video files, organizing assets and maintaining an organized video library, as well as manages necessary backups.

Catalogs, archives and distributes footage, audio and graphics as needed for internal team members as well as external contractors.

Stays up-to-date with video editing trends, software, and best practices to continually improve the quality of output.

Assist with creating motion graphics and special effects, as needed.


Requirements

Proven experience in video development, editing, and design, specifically in applications including:

    - Adobe Premiere Pro

    - Adobe After Effects

    - Adobe Illustrator

    - Adobe Photoshop

    - Adobe Animate (not essential)

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Demonstrated success in team collaboration and independent work with minimal supervision

Ability to work with and direct talent

Familiarity with video-first, mobile-first, and multimodal learning modalities

Experience with DaVinci and cloud-based editing is a plus

Understanding of AI-powered education tools is a plus

Ability to work in 3D modelling and rendering software is a plus
