Key Responsibilities
Princess Cruises is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Photo Manager to lead our onboard Photo Teams in delivering exceptional customer service and achieving key revenue and performance targets. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring leader with a passion for photography, strong management skills, and a commitment to excellence in customer satisfaction. As a Photo Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering memorable experiences to our guests while leading a dedicated team to success. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and exciting environment, with the chance to contribute to the growth and success of our brand.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Revenue & Target Achievement: Ensure Photo sales, including Platinum Studio consistently meet or exceed planned targets for each voyage.
  • Expense Control: Effectively manage expenses to stay within margin goals for photo, retail, and video divisions while meeting overall contract goals.
  • Staff Coaching & Development: Provide ongoing coaching to staff to achieve image count and sales targets. Develop fair, individualized staff goals and communicate them clearly to ensure consistent performance.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Complete accurate end-of-cruise reports with detailed comments on revenue opportunities and issues, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Onboard Revenue Collaboration: Actively participate in Onboard Revenue meetings, working closely with the Business and Brand Director and Associate Hotel General Manager to identify revenue opportunities, risks, and course corrections.
  • Staff Development & Communication: Hold regular meetings with Assistant Photo Managers and staff to discuss career advancement, personal development, business issues, and communication strategies. Offer immediate feedback to encourage effective management practices.
  • Performance Appraisals & Coaching: Complete fair and objective performance appraisals on time and provide constructive feedback, including Performance Improvement Plans if necessary.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure all marketing, visual directives, and operations are executed accurately and in accordance with corporate directives. Maintain high standards for photo quality, customer service, and equipment management.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Focus staff on delivering exceptional customer service and respond promptly to passenger requests, concerns, and escalations.
  • Inventory & Loss Prevention: Ensure compliance with company policies regarding inventory management, pricing, barcoding, and loss-prevention measures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Regional Managers, Business and Brand Director and Associate Hotel General Manager to resolve operational issues and implement best practices.
  • Compliance: Follow all company policies, procedures, Fleet Regulations, and emergency response protocols to maintain a safe and compliant operation.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of prior experience in the cruise ship industry, specifically in a Photo Manager role or an equivalent capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise in team building and problem-solving within a customer service-driven environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing international teams and successfully achieving revenue targets within a cruise line setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of cruise industry photography operations, products, services, and a comprehensive understanding of the Princess Cruises brand.
  • Exceptional coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, with a high level of fluency.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage and control expenses while adhering to budgetary objectives.
  • Ability to adapt to an evolving work environment, effectively troubleshooting challenges and implementing solutions.
