Job description

At River, we are building the world's most trusted financial institution to empower people to take ownership of their financial lives through Bitcoin, the world's only incorruptible digital money. We believe in a future where every person will have bitcoin savings, and every business will have bitcoin on the balance sheet. We obsessively design and build delightful products that help our clients buy, sell, secure, and use Bitcoin.
We are looking for a Host & Producer to be the main face of River's video content and to bring our videos to life across various channels. You'll present our videos on camera with the warmth and authority of a trusted guide explaining money. You'll shoot many of these videos yourself, occasionally working with contractors for bigger projects. Our audience is people who are navigating the reality that our money is slowly losing its value; your job is to make them trust us enough to hear the answers. The main goal of the channel is not to promote River's products, it is to create valuable content you would enjoy watching.
You'll report to River's Director of Marketing and work closely with our Video Content Strategist, who writes the scripts you'll present.
River is growing quickly and has raised more than $50 million from leading investors, including Goldcrest, Kingsway, Polychain, M13, DG, and Valor. We have also released our company's financials publicly, so that all of our clients and employees can verify the robustness and growth of the business themselves.
What you will be doing:
  • Be the recognizable face of our videos. Present medium length scripted videos with the clarity, warmth, and authority that make viewers trust you and keep watching.
  • Shoot your own footage, anywhere the journey takes us. Own the production quality in any location you shoot from, as video content won't be studio-based.
  • Produce shoots end to end. Plan, scout, and run the logistics that get us high-quality footage on schedule.
  • Own the craft edit. You define the color, sound, B-roll, and motion-graphics direction - and direct our editor so the finished video keeps the energy of the moment it was shot.
  • Conduct interviews for feature-style videos when a story calls for it.
  • Collaborate with the Video Content Strategist to make every script land in your natural voice.
What we look for in you:
  • On-camera presence. You can deliver scripted explainers and make a stranger feel like a friend is walking them through their money.
  • The ability to make complex topics feel simple and human on camera.
  • Proven self-shooting ability. A portfolio of footage you shot and produced yourself, not just appeared in.
  • Production skills. Framing, lighting, and audio you can execute well without a crew.
  • A strong sense of ownership and a bias for iteration to keep getting better each video.
  • Curiosity about money and Bitcoin, and eagerness to become genuinely conversant, so that it shows on camera.
  • Integrity. You will, quite literally, be one of the main faces of our brand.
Nice to have:
  • Editing skills (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut).
  • Motion graphics or animation experience.
  • A background in finance, economics, or journalism.
  • Interviewing experience.
Salary and benefits:
  • Annual salary range of $110-160k depending on experience
  • Competitive compensation and equity
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off
  • Parental leave, separate from PTO policy
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance + 401k for US based employees
  • Remote option: You can work from anywhere in the U.S, but your base should be in New York City to be close to leadership and several team members for a variety of productions.
Interview process:
  • Screening interview with River's Director of Marketing (20 mins)
  • Interview with Marketing team member + River's Chief Operating Officer (2x 30 mins B2B)
  • Take-home challenge (a paid exercise: shoot and present a short explainer)
  • Interview with River's CPO + CEO (2x 30 mins B2B)
