What is a media host?

A media host is a professional who presents, moderates, or facilitates media content such as television shows, podcasts, radio programs, or online broadcasts. They are responsible for engaging the audience, introducing segments, interviewing guests, and ensuring the smooth flow of the program. Media hosts often research topics, prepare scripts, and work closely with production teams to deliver informative and entertaining content. Their skills in communication and presentation are crucial for connecting with viewers or listeners and maintaining audience interest.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a media host, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Media Host, you need strong verbal communication skills, on-camera presence, and a background in broadcasting, journalism, or a related field. These skills ensure effective audience connection, smooth technical production, and compelling content delivery in dynamic media environments.

Job description

Social Media Host & Growth Creator

Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)
Compensation: $80,000โ€“$140,000 base salary, plus performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits.

The final offer will depend on factors such as relevant experience, on-camera presence, content quality, audience growth track record, ability to develop recurring content series, and demonstrated business impact.

About Bidbus

Bidbus is reinventing how people sell their cars.

Instead of negotiating with a single dealership, sellers list their vehicle on Bidbus and compete in a live auction where multiple licensed dealerships bid in real time. By creating a transparent marketplace, we're shifting pricing power back to consumers.

With over $18M raised, Bidbus is well-capitalized and scaling rapidly across multiple markets. As we expand nationally, we're building a brand that people genuinely enjoy talking aboutโ€”not just another automotive marketplace.

The Role

We're looking for a Social Media Host & Growth Creator to become the face of Bidbus across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other social platforms.

You'll create and host engaging daily content around cars, dealerships, auctions, and the car-selling experience while developing original content series that people genuinely look forward to watching.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves being on camera, enjoys storytelling, and knows how to turn everyday moments into engaging content that grows both audience and business.

What You'll Do
  • Become the primary on-camera host and personality for Bidbus's social media channels.
  • Develop, film, and publish engaging daily short-form content.
  • Create recurring content series that build loyal audiences.
  • Visit dealerships, auctions, events, and customers to capture authentic stories.
  • Interview dealers, customers, team members, and other automotive personalities.
  • Turn social trends, industry news, and everyday moments into compelling content.
  • Collaborate with our Creator Growth and Marketing teams to execute campaigns.
  • Analyze content performance and continuously improve growth, engagement, and storytelling.
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years creating content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or similar platforms.
  • Comfortable, confident, and engaging on camera.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, hooks, and audience behavior.
  • Able to consistently generate ideas and produce high-volume content.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Experience building and growing a personal social media following.
Bonus Points
  • Passion for cars, automotive culture, or marketplaces.
  • Existing creator portfolio or social media following.
  • Experience hosting interviewโ€‘style or recurring content series.
  • Basic filming and editing skills.
Why Join Bidbus?

Youโ€™ll have the opportunity to become the face of one of the fastest-growing automotive marketplaces and help build one of the most recognizable automotive brands on social media.

Rather than following an existing content playbook, youโ€™ll help create it.
