CCG is currently looking for a Senior Automation Technician to join our Operations division in our Sarasota, FL offices.
We're looking for a Senior Automation Technician to join our Operations team to lead and support maintenance and automation operations while ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of production equipment across multiple facilities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS THE SENIOR AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN:
  • Lead, support, and optimize maintenance and automation operations across production environments
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and enhance automated and mechanical production equipment to maximize uptime and efficiency
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving PLCs, HMIs, robotics, sensors, servo systems, industrial networks, and related automation technologies
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures
  • Support and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated systems
  • Coordinate rapid response troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity
  • Lead and mentor maintenance technicians, providing hands-on technical training and guidance
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical training materials
  • Participate in the planning, installation, startup, and commissioning of new automation equipment and production lines
  • Collaborate with operations teams, vendors, and system integrators on automation projects and process improvements
  • Support equipment acceptance testing, system validation, debugging, and performance optimization
  • Travel as needed to support automation systems and equipment across company facilities and partner locations
  • Partner with cross-functional and global teams to ensure consistent automation performance and operational standards

WHAT MAKES YOU THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing maintenance, controls, or production equipment support
  • Strong expertise in troubleshooting automated and mechanical production equipment
  • Hands-on experience with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), HMIs, robotics, and industrial automation technologies
  • Experience with servo drives, electrical controls, industrial networking, pneumatic systems, and mechanical systems
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop maintenance or technical teams
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics and technical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred:
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Automation Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
  • Experience supporting high-speed manufacturing or automated production environments
  • Experience with equipment startup, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Completion of professional training or certification in FANUC robotics or similar industrial robotic systems
  • Experience working with ultrasonic welding equipment in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience within the plastics industry or supporting plastic manufacturing processes
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred
