Success often depends on consistency, personality, and community-building.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in video game streaming?

To succeed in Video Game Streaming, you need strong gaming proficiency, on-camera presence, and a solid understanding of digital content creation, often supported by familiarity with common streaming platforms. Technical skills with broadcasting software such as OBS Studio or Streamlabs, and knowledge of audio/video equipment, are essential, though formal certifications are generally not required. Exceptional communication, engagement, and time management skills help streamers build and maintain a loyal audience. What does a typical workday look like for someone in video game streaming?

A typical day for a professional video game streamer involves preparing for and conducting live streams, which includes setting up equipment, choosing games, engaging with viewers through chat, and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise. Many streamers collaborate with brands, participate in events, or work with a support team for moderation and technical assistance. Because much of the success in this field relies on audience interaction and consistent content creation, streamers must balance live performance with behind-the-scenes tasks to grow and maintain their channel.

Job description

About the Role

WNDR is the next evolution of gaming and entertainment: a cloud-powered platform that combines streaming, game development, and publishing. Games launch instantly in the browserโ€”no downloads required.

Weโ€™re looking for a creative Videographer and Short-Form Video Editor Intern to turn raw footage into content people actually want to watch. Youโ€™ll help create TikToks, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, trailers, behind-the-scenes clips, and other videos that bring WNDR Gaming to life.

If you understand strong hooks, quick pacing, captions, and gaming culture, this could be a great fit.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Edit TikToks, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, trailers, and other social-first videos
  • Add captions, transitions, sound effects, visual effects, motion graphics, and on-screen text
  • Select the strongest moments from raw footage and shape them into clear, entertaining edits
  • Color correct footage, improve audio, and prepare videos in the right format for each platform
  • Work with creators, videographers, and the marketing team to develop content ideas
  • Keep up with gaming trends, memes, editing styles, and formats that perform well on social media
  • Organize project files and deliver finished videos on time
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • A portfolio showing TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, gaming, or other short-form edits
  • Working knowledge of CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar editing software
  • A basic understanding of hooks, pacing, retention, captions, and modern social media editing
  • The ability to work quickly, take feedback, and manage more than one project at a time
  • Good communication skills and strong attention to detail
How We Work (YouTube + OBS Studio)

We treat YouTube as our studio and OBS as our main capture tool.

  • Use YouTube Studio to schedule broadcasts, manage titles/thumbnails, and monitor stream health
  • Use OBS Studio to record and stream gameplay, webcam, and screen content
  • Build reusable scenes: Starting Soon, Gameplay, Commentary, BRB, Highlights
  • Record locally in high quality while streaming, so we have master files for editing
  • Use replay buffers and hotkeys to grab instant highlight clips for short-form content
  • Export platform-ready versions (9:16 for TikTok/Reels/Shorts) with captions, SFX, and motion graphics
Nice to Have
  • Experience editing gaming content or creator-style videos
  • Familiarity with overlays, alerts, and basic motion graphics
  • Interest in cloud gaming, streaming, and digital entertainment
