Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Marketing, the Senior Brand Manager is responsible for defining and overseeing the comprehensive go-to-market strategy and execution for high-profile game launches and franchises. This role demands a holistic view of Aspyr's business, involving the overall brand strategy, defining product and brand positioning, identifying key target audiences, conducting competitive and market analysis, and owning partner relationships. This position will provide senior-level strategic direction on creative, product life-cycle management, and budget allocation. The Senior Brand Manager will help lead cross-functional teams and mentor brand managers and creative staff.
Essential Functions:
  • Strategic Leadership & Planning:
    • Drive the strategic vision for go-to-market campaigns, providing senior guidance on product positioning, target audience segmentation, and core messaging that resonates across various platforms and channels
    • Develop the long-term brand strategy and positioning for assigned game franchises
    • Conduct and synthesize competitive analysis, and consumer insights to inform and validate strategic marketing decisions and drive superior performance
    • Own the marketing budget for assigned franchises, making decisions on spend allocation across media, creative, and promotional activities to maximize ROI
  • Cross-Functional Management & Influence:
    • Serve as the primary marketing lead and decision-maker when collaborating with internal departments (e.g., Product, Production, QA, Publishing, PR)
    • Provide strategic direction and ensure cohesive execution across all marketing touchpoints
    • Lead the relationship with external agencies (creative, media, research), defining the vision and quality bar for all campaign materials, including key art, trailers, advertising, and promotional assets
    • Act as the senior-level contact and brand guardian for licensing partners and external stakeholders, confidently presenting go-to-market plans, negotiating asset approvals, and communicating post-launch performance
  • Execution & Mentorship:
    • Oversee and mentor junior staff or cross-functional team members on day-to-day campaign execution, budget tracking, and creative planning
    • Focus on best-in-class brand management practices
    • Proactively interpret, analyze, and provide action plans based on campaign performance metrics, and evolving game development milestones to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
    • Work with the Senior Manager of Marketing to establish and refine KPIs, ensuring campaigns are tracked against ambitious sales and brand health goals, and driving post-mortem analysis for continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience bringing multiple successful product launches to market within the games, entertainment, or digital software industry, ideally including 1+ years operating at a senior or equivalent leadership level
  • Exceptional track record of developing and executing large-scale, integrated marketing campaigns that have driven significant sales and brand growth
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and demonstrate strong financial acumen in forecasting, spend optimization, and reporting ROI
  • Expert-level understanding of the video game publishing and marketing content pipeline; experience managing complex IP/licensing relationships is preferred
  • Outstanding strategic and analytical skills, coupled with a creative mindset and the ability to inspire top-tier creative work
  • Superior written, oral communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders
