Social Media & Community Marketing Intern

TapBlaze

Los Angeles, CA • On-site

$20 - $25/hr

Full-time

Re-posted 27 days ago

Job description

We're TapBlaze, a Los Angeles-based casual mobile game studio behind Good Pizza, Great Pizza and Good Coffee, Great Coffee. We're looking for someone special to join our team as a social media and community intern. For the right person, this can turn into a full-time role on our team.
This hands-on internship puts you on real projects from day one. The gaming industry moves quickly, and we want to set you up with the kind of experience and skills that actually prepare you for a career in it. We're not looking for someone passing through; we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
We're looking for someone to deepen player engagement, grow our reach, and run our communities. We value passion, creativity, and a genuine desire to grow. If you're curious whether you'd be a good culture fit, we encourage you to learn more about our team values at tapblaze.com.
What You'll Do
  • Create social media assets (video + static) tailored to each platform's format and audience
  • Write captions and marketing copy that drives clicks, installs, and engagement
  • Schedule posts across all platforms using tools like Sprout Social or Loomly
  • Study what works, what doesn't, and constantly push for better across TikTok, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, and Discord
  • Plan and run creative community events for our players
  • Host live streams of gameplay and game updates, and be the main point of contact between communities and the dev team
  • Develop a creative strategy backed by research and data, grounded in each game's unique community and growth potential
  • Stay plugged into our communities and surface trends, feedback, and ideas to the team early
  • Help shape our social and community marketing plan beyond the internship: which data we should listen to, what research needs to happen, what to watch for in our communities, and where you'd recommend we go next

Your First 10 Weeks
By week 10, you'll be running our social end-to-end, setting the creative strategy, producing platform-native content, writing copy that drives installs and not just likes, and publishing across all our channels. You'll have a clear read on which platforms have the most room to grow for our games, backed by real data, and an active pulse on our communities that surfaces trends, feedback, and ideas before they're obvious to the rest of the team.
Interns who perform at a high level will be considered for a full-time marketing role at the end of the internship.
What We're Looking For
  • Are passionate about cozy games, marketing, or community building
  • Have played Good Pizza, Great Pizza or Good Coffee, Great Coffee enough to know the game well
  • Welcome feedback and are comfortable iterating, even through multiple rounds
  • Adapt quickly when priorities shift, and can scrap a draft and take a new direction without losing momentum
  • Have a strong attention to detail and take pride in your work
  • Take initiative and are always looking for ways to improve
  • Are open to learning and incorporating new marketing tools, including automation-assisted workflows
  • See content as a growth tool, not just an art form. Every post should serve a purpose
  • Want to build a career in game marketing and are genuinely interested in a full-time role with us

Skills and Background
  • Photoshop proficiency: comfortable doing clean edits and recreating partial art assets
  • Beginner knowledge of Premiere Pro or After Effects
  • Solid grasp of short form video content, especially TikTok and Reels
  • Ability to write copy that feels human, fun, and on brand
  • Organized and dependable under tight deadlines, someone who ships on schedule while managing multiple platforms at once
  • Willingness to deepen your editing skills and pick up other new tools on the job
  • Bonus: experience in game marketing or community management
  • Bonus: a genuine love for cozy mobile games

Job Details
  • Paid internship: $20-$25/hr
  • 10-week internship with the opportunity to convert to a full-time role based on performance
  • In office only, 5 days a week at our Sawtelle location in Los Angeles, CA

Commitment to Diversity
As an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce TapBlaze recognizes that a diverse staff, reflective of our community, is an integral and welcome part of a successful and ethical business. We hire local talent at all levels regardless of race, color, religion, age, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability, and actively foster inclusion in all forms both within our company and across interactions with vendors and partners.
Before applying, we encourage you to spend some real time with Good Pizza, Great Pizza and Good Coffee, Great Coffee. We'll talk about the games in the interview, and the strongest cover letters show us you actually know them.
If this position caught your eye, send us your resume! For best consideration, include a cover letter explaining why you'd be an excellent fit. We read every one. To confirm you did too, include the phrase "coffee is great" somewhere in your cover letter.
