Ball State University Athletics is seeking candidates for a Director of Creative and Digital Strategy for Women's Basketball.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Function

The Director of Creative and Digital Strategy for Women's Basketball will work directly with the Head Women's Basketball Coach in the areas of marketing, community engagement, visual storytelling, digital strategy, brand development, and other duties as assigned. This position is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive content and branding strategy designed to elevate the visibility of the Women's Basketball program, enhance fan engagement, support recruiting efforts and in driving ticket sales and fundraising initiatives. This position will be expected to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.


This role will collaborate with Athletics external units, including ticket sales, marketing, communications, and creative services, to develop and execute integrated promotional campaigns to drive ticket sales and fundraising results. Responsibilities also include planning and coordinating community service initiatives and producing multimedia content that highlights student-athletes, coaches, and the overall Ball State Women's Basketball brand.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive creative content and brand strategy for Women's Basketball.
  • Create and manage engaging multimedia content across social media, digital, and in-venue platforms, including graphics, photography, short-form video, long-form storytelling, and promotional campaigns.
  • Maintain and strengthen the visual identity and overall brand presence of the Women's Basketball program.
  • Collaborate with Athletics marketing and ticket sales staff to support attendance initiatives, fan engagement campaigns, and revenue-generation efforts.
  • Support recruiting-related creative initiatives consistent with NCAA rules and institutional policies.
  • Coordinate and execute community outreach and service initiatives involving student-athletes and coaching staff.
  • Monitor and analyze social media and digital engagement metrics to assess effectiveness and guide strategy adjustments.
  • Capture and edit video and photo content for practices, games, recruiting visits, community events, and special projects.
  • Maintain familiarity with emerging social media trends, digital storytelling techniques, and platform best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Women's Basketball Coach.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, Sports Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in creative content development, digital media, brand management, or social media strategy within an NCAA Division I athletics program, professional sports organization, or closely related environment. Graduate assistant, internship, student worker, and/or part-time experience will be considered on a proportional basis.
  • Demonstrated experience creating engaging digital and social media content, including graphic design, photography, and video production/editing.
  • Experience managing or contributing to social media accounts with measurable audience engagement growth and/or demonstrated campaign performance.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with women's basketball or another NCAA Division I athletic program.
  • Experience creating recruiting-focused creative content and social media campaigns.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools and content performance reporting.
  • Experience coordinating community engagement initiatives and brand activation efforts.
  • Photography and videography experience in live-event athletic settings.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard creative software platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, or similar tools.
