Job description

Job Summary:
Pyramid Consulting, Inc is a leading company in the Telecom Industry, currently seeking a talented Java Developer for a 12+ month contract opportunity. The role involves designing web services, developing backend APIs, and providing technical leadership while supporting applications and managing project deployments.
Responsibilities:
• Design web services and web applications, support applications under development, and customize current applications.
• Develop, deploy, and support backend APIs using both server and serverless technologies.
• Assist with the software update process for existing applications, and rollouts of software releases.
• Tests and manages project deployments and production releases.
• Design, implement, and maintain database through environments.
• Configure and maintain AWS components (Lambda functions, API gateway, S3, EC2, EKS).
• Provide technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques.
• Conduct analysis to properly prioritize development tasks with management.
• Guide and mentor junior-level engineers.
• Executes tests to compare results with requirements, to verify test requirements, to identify defects, and to ensure compliance.
• Participates in product feature discussions and proactively identify areas for testing.
• Work closely with development, QA, and DevOps to ensure thorough testing of bug fixes and new features.
• Providing input into new technologies and techniques, as well as participate in the evelopment of proof of concepts and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.
• Provide Tier 2 and on-call support for Production issues as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 4+ years Java development (Spring Framework or similar)
• 4+ years providing production support on cloud environments
• 4+ years with Spring/Hibernate/MVC and similar frameworks
• 3+ years test experience with clear ability to deliver quality results on time
• 2+ years AWS component experience
• 2+ years deploying and maintaining web APIs
• 2+ years managing Linux servers
• Experience and comfort working in Agile work environments
• 2+ years Python scripting and deployments (especially on AWS Lambda)
• 2+ years Node.js (express framework or similar) development
Preferred:
• Video encoding/streaming experience
