Senior Video Editor

Slash Financial

New York, NY • On-site, Remote

$70K - $100K/yr

Full-time

Job description

About Slash
Slash is a financial technology company building the modern money stack for businesses. We help founders and operators run their entire financial workflow in one place, and we are growing fast off the back of a brand that punches well above its size. Marketing here is creative-first. We invest in original, high-craft content rather than scaling headcount, and video sits at the center of that bet.
We are hiring a Senior Video Editor to own the craft of our most important work: customer case studies, sit-down interviews, and product demos that look and feel like they came out of a top-tier studio.
About the role
This is not a social-clips role. We are looking for a genuinely talented editor who has shipped larger, higher-quality projects and can carry a piece from raw footage to a polished, broadcast-grade final cut. The ideal person is both a shooter and an editor, comfortable behind a camera on a shoot day and equally at home in the timeline.
You will work directly with our marketing leadership on flagship content, with real creative ownership and a high bar for taste, pacing, and finish.
What you'll do
  • Edit customer case studies, sit-down interviews, and product demos into polished, story-driven films.
  • Own post-production end to end: assembly, story structure, pacing, sound design, and color.
  • Shoot when needed, on location and in studio, as a hybrid shooter-editor.
  • Color grade footage to a clean, cinematic standard inside DaVinci Resolve.
  • Collaborate on creative direction and bring your own ideas, not just execute a brief.
What we're looking for
  • A strong portfolio of larger, high-quality projects. We want to see range across long-form and narrative work, not only social edits.
  • Real editing talent with excellent instincts for pacing, story, and audio.
  • Experience in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, and a willingness to edit in DaVinci Resolve (we standardize on it for color and team collaboration).
  • The ability to take a project from footage to finish with minimal hand-holding.
  • Comfortable being a shooter as well as an editor. This is a strong plus, not a hard requirement.
Nice to have
  • Hands-on experience shooting with Sony FX3.
  • Color grading in S-Log3 / S-Gamut3.Cine inside DaVinci Resolve.
  • Motion graphics and animation chops (helpful, not required).
  • 3D ability in Blender for custom renders. This would be a real differentiator for us, though it is not necessary.
Location
San Francisco is strongly preferred. We have a tight-knit in-office culture and being in person makes collaboration and shoot days far easier. Remote is possible for an exceptional candidate.
Compensation
$70,000-$100,000, depending on experience and whether you bring shooting ability alongside editing. This role is cash compensation.
How to apply
Apply through our Ashby posting and include a link to your portfolio. Show us a clear scope of the work you have done: the kind of projects, your specific role on each, and the pieces you are proudest of. We care most about high-quality, larger projects, so lead with those.
