Position Summary

The purpose of this corporate photographer/videographer is to create high-quality photography and videography that supports marketing, ecommerce, corporate communications, executive, and internal business needs. Subjects include products, equipment, facilities, people and workplace environments.  This role is responsible for corporate, product, situational, portrait, and event photography/videography, post-production editing, and preparation of digital assets for use across web, email, social media, paid advertising, marketplace, sales, and corporate communications channels.  

As a visual storyteller, this individual creates authentic, compelling imagery that demonstrates products and services in real-world environments and translates business objectives into visual concepts that engage target audiences and support business results. 

Candidates must reside within 40 miles commuting distance of the corporate campus and be available to work onsite three days per week. This role requires travel to various video and photo shoot locations. Candidates must have access to reliable transportation and be able to travel independently to assigned shoot sites.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs photography/videography services to support sales, marketing, and corporate needs.
  • Applies contemporary photography, lighting, styling, and composition techniques to elevate brand perception.
  • Shoots photos and video in the studio, at any interior or exterior J. J. Keller location, or at external locations as relevant.
  • Plans and coordinates studio and on-location photo/video shoots, including creative concepts, schedules, locations, models, props, equipment and external partner relationships.
  • Performs post-production editing and optimizes visual assets for deployment across digital, print, social media, advertising, sales and corporate communication channels.
  • Develops and maintains business contacts and vendor relationships that support photography, videography, external location access and visual content production needs.  
  • Catalogs, organizes, and stores images in a manner that makes them easily accessible to users throughout JJKA.
  • Maintains studio equipment inventory, determines new equipment to add and old equipment to retire, and prepares an annual studio equipment budget with rationale for management consideration.
  • Acquires and maintains general knowledge of JJKA products, markets, and related regulations and best practices to help ensure logical and accurate situational photography and visual storytelling.
  • Develops visual concepts, shot lists, storyboards, and creative briefs that align with marketing objectives, corporate goals and target audience needs.
  • Provides direction to models, employees, customers, and other subjects to create natural, authentic, and engaging imagery that accurately reflects customer environments, workflows and real-world use cases.
  • Partners with product marketing, ecommerce, creative, and communications teams to identify visual content gaps and proactively develop solutions.
  • Builds and maintains a library of evergreen situational photography assets that can be leveraged across campaigns, channels, and product lines. 
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Photography, Visual Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Creative Arts, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional photography experience in a corporate, commercial, product, ecommerce, studio, agency, or related environment.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 

Other Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Macintosh operating systems, Adobe Creative Cloud applications (including Photoshop and Premiere Pro), image processing software, and digital asset management/archive systems.
  • Experience directing and executing on-location and studio photo shoots involving employees, customers, professional models, products, equipment, and operational environments. Experience photographing industrial, manufacturing, transportation, construction, or similar workplace settings is preferred.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating commercial, lifestyle, environmental, and product photography, as well as visual storytelling that effectively communicates brand, product, and customer experience messaging. 
  • Proficiency in professional photo and video production workflows, including image editing, retouching, color correction, image optimization, basic video production, audio capture, and video editing.
  • Knowledge of photographic techniques, including lighting, lenses, composition, and post-production best practices.
  • Experience creating content optimized for digital commerce, social media, marketplaces, and other digital marketing channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong communication, professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of photography equipment and computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel required to support photo and video shoots.
