Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Position Type: Part-time, Summer Internship

Victory Lap is bringing sports bar energy to both West Campus and Rainey Street-creating the ultimate destination for game days, watch parties, tailgates, and unforgettable nights in Austin. Right next door on Rainey Street, Side Piece Pies is serving up late-night slices for fans long after the final whistle. Together, we're building a sports-focused social experience unlike anywhere else in the city, and we're looking for a Social Media & Events Intern to help bring it all to life.
You'll work directly with our Marketing & Social Media teams to create content, support sports-focused events and activations, capture the action on game days, and help grow the buzz around all three locations. If you love sports, content creation, and being where the energy is highest, we want you on our team.

  • Create, design, and manage engaging social media content for Victory Lap West Campus, Victory Lap Rainey, and Side Piece Pies, capturing the excitement of game days, watch parties, events, and everyday moments
  • Build and manage monthly content calendars to streamline scheduling and posting across all brands and locations
  • Attend sporting events, activations, watch parties, and nightlife experiences as the boots-on-the-ground representative for Victory Lap and Side Piece Pizza
  • Capture, edit, and share real-time photos and videos using iPhone, CapCut, Canva, and Instagram's creative tools
  • Create hype-driven sports content surrounding college football, NFL Sundays, March Madness, playoff games, rivalry matchups, and other major sporting events
  • Manage community engagement by responding to DMs, comments, and messages to foster an authentic, sports-driven digital community
  • Stay up to date on sports culture, social trends, memes, and emerging content formats to keep content fresh, timely, and culturally relevant
  • Support planning, promoting, and executing high-energy game day events, watch parties, and activations across Victory Lap West Campus, Victory Lap Rainey, and Side Piece Pies-you are our demographic, so your input matters
  • Utilize campus and local connections to build brand awareness and drive attendance for sporting events and promotions
  • Assist with tracking metrics and KPIs including follower growth, engagement rates, reach, and event attendance
  • Craft creative, witty, and sports-focused captions that bring each brand's voice to life across social platforms
  • Collaborate and communicate with onsite staff and leadership teams to align on marketing, branding, and event initiatives
  • Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned (because great ideas can come from anywhere!)
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and game days, is required

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Sports Management, Photography, or a related field
  • Skilled iPhone photographer and video editor; experience using CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere, or similar editing platforms
  • Experience using Canva for graphic design and social media content creation
  • Strong grasp of major social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok
  • Passion for sports, food, beverage, nightlife, and hospitality culture
  • Strong understanding of college sports culture, especially Texas athletics and major sporting events
  • Fluent in the English language, its rules, and proper usage

Team & Work Schedule
  • Work schedule to be determined upon hire. Schedule is flexible, but hours should be consistent.
  • Minimum 20 hours per week.
  • Nights and weekend availability will be required (to cover game days, watch parties, etc.)
  • This is a hybrid position. While some work can be completed remotely, it is crucial that you are located on-site in Austin, Texas and available to attend events, activations, and content shoots across West Campus and Rainey Street.

Benefits
This paid internship will run from May 2026 to August 2026 with the possibility to continue into the fall semester. The internship will be approximately 20 - 30 hours per week. Pay is $15 per hour.
