Job description
Door G is a creative production studio where imagination meets innovation. We blend bold storytelling with virtual production, traditional filmmaking, and AI-enabled workflows to deliver premium work at real production speed.
The RoleDoor G moves fast. Multiple projects, short turnarounds, and productions that generate more footage in a day than most teams see in a month. That only works if someone builds the runway before the editors sit down.
That's this job. You take everything that comes off a shoot - cards, audio, graphics, references, client assets - and turn it into a project someone can open and start cutting immediately. Synced, labeled, grouped, selected, and structured so the story is already findable.
Prep at this level is a craft. Knowing which takes are worth surfacing, how to build a string-out so the arc reveals itself, and when to flag a coverage gap before anyone else notices it.
You'll cut as well: string-outs, assemblies, rough cuts, cutdowns, and versions. But the heart of the role is making sure the edit is ready to happen, on every project, every time.
What You'll Do
Ingest, sync, label, and organize footage, audio, graphics, and client assets into projects that are immediately workable.
Build selects and string-outs that give editors a real starting point — surfacing the best takes, grouping coverage, and structuring material so the story is visible before the first cut.
Cut assemblies, rough cuts, cutdowns, and versions under the direction of the Senior Editor or Creative Director.
Own folder structures, naming conventions, and version control across projects, so any editor or freelancer can open a Door G job and know exactly where everything lives.
Prepare timelines and asset packages for motion graphics, VFX, color, sound, online finishing, and mastering.
Export review files and final deliverables to spec across broadcast, web, social, and presentation platforms.
QC media, graphics, captions, audio, and exports before anything moves to review or delivery.
Flag problems early — missing coverage, sync drift, audio issues, spec conflicts — while there's still time to solve them.
Run backups, project closeout, and archiving so finished work can actually be found again.
Use AI-assisted tools for transcription, logging, search, audio cleanup, and reframing to move faster through repeatable work.
What You'll Bring
Experience: 5+ years in post-production at a production company, post house, creative studio, or agency.
Organizational Skill: This is the core of the job. You have a system for taking a project from card offload to archive; you can explain it, and you hold it when three jobs land in the same week. Editors who work behind you should never have to ask where something is.
Editorial Foundation: Real command of continuity, pacing, coverage, and shot selection. You can build a rough that holds together on its own, not just an assembly in script order.
Judgment Under Volume: The instinct to know what matters inside eight hours of footage and surface it, rather than handing over everything and calling it organized.
Tech Fluency: Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro and professional media workflows. After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, or Illustrator are a plus.
Technical Range: Comfort with codecs, transcoding, sync, multicam, formats, and delivery specs — and the ability to troubleshoot.
Collaboration: Clear communicator who asks the right questions early. Integrates into an existing team fast and takes direction cleanly.
AI Fluency: Familiarity with current AI post tools for logging, transcription, and cleanup, and the judgment to know which ones actually save time.
A Plus: Experience with virtual production footage, large multicam builds, or motion graphics capability of your own.
Please upload or attach a short description of how you organize a project from card offload through archive — folder structure, naming, versioning, handoff — and links to any rough cuts or finished work you've cut.
We are open to hybrid and remote work arrangements. We are not able to support relocation or visa sponsorship for this role. We are an EEO/Affirmative Action employer.
