JOB DESCRIPTION - Multimedia Coordinator
Department: Strategic Communications
Reports To: Asst. Vice Chancellor of Strategic Communications

Position Summary
The Multimedia Coordinator for the Division of Strategic Communications, under the direct supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications, works collaboratively with campus partners to create targeted video, photography, and other visual media assets that advance the university's mission, strengthen the LSUA brand, support enrollment growth, and elevate awareness of campus culture, academic programs, faculty engagement, athletics, advancement initiatives, and institutional priorities. This position creates visually compelling content for internal and external audiences, supports social media and digital content needs, and provides direction, coordination, and oversight for the university Media Team to enhance the quality, consistency, and impact of visual storytelling across the university.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operates photo, audio, and video production equipment to perform other audiovisual duties as needed.
  • Responsible for all video production, including filming and post-production work that supports the LSUA brand.
  • Supports proof of concept, scope, creating briefs, coordinating productions and review schedules, scripting, editing, and delivery to support LSUA communications initiatives.
  • Creates and distributes collateral for advertisements and other deliverables.
  • Works closely with Strategic Communications team members on multiple projects simultaneously through completion according to specific timelines.
  • Monitors digital activity, blogs, groups, articles, social media insights, and analytics.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and provides thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Creates and edits content for social media channels and LSUA website with and without direction in coordination with the Communications Coordinator and the Web Content Coordinator.
  • Provide direction, coordination, and oversight for the university Media Team to enhance visual media content for the Division of Strategic Communications and the university.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Communication, Graphic Design, Journalism, Digital Design, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro, or similar video editing programs.

  • Ability to use a DSLR camera; general photography and photo editing skills.
  • Proficient with theories of graphic design.
  • Proficiency in social media application management. Familiarity with digital and social media ads preferred.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new software programs and applications, and identifying tech tools to meet organizational needs.
  • Attention to detail and ability to proofread effectively with minimal direction or oversight
  • Ability to meet deadlines, organize, and balance short and long-term projects while prioritizing daily tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Hours: Eight (8) hours per day, Monday- Friday, 40 hours a week. Additional hours worked as warranted by current initiatives and projects.
Salary: Starting pay of $38,000-55,000, commensurate with experience. Eligible for merit and equity increases.
