Job description
The Company Photographer and Content Creator would work alongside our programs in taking professional photographs of program's activities and experiences and using these visuals to create contents for our families that will go on our social media and websites while using quality and compelling content to raise brand recognition in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of 1st Class programs and with the philosophy and policies of 1st Class and in strict compliance with Alberta Childcare Licensing Act.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate scanners to transfer photographic images to computers.
- Use computers with appropriate software to process and manipulate digital images.
- skillfully capture moments in our programs and centres on film and skillfully utilize images to tell captivating stories.
- Maintain an in depth understanding of photographic best practices and procedure.
- Working with teams of Early childhood educators to create eye-catching pedagogical documents using photos and videos to tell stories of children's development.
- Assist in developing storyboards for electronic productions.
- Able to coach our photography and nature club on basic photography techniques such as how to frame shots and how to adjust camera settings based on the situation.
- Able to edit materials and complete post-production (photoshop, video editing for social posts, blogs, etc.).
- Able to travel from location to location and on field trips to capture children's experiences in different areas and landscapes.
- Able to find creative and engaging photographic and video ideas and location across the city to use in content to boost engagements.
Employment requirements and skills
- Experience in, or knowledge of computerized photography or digital imaging may be required.
- High School Completion is required. A bachelor's degree in visual arts or other related degrees will be a bonus.
- Specialization in photography is required, evidence of previous photographic work or portfolio may be required.
- Competency in applying photographic best practices and techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of production process for online publishing and various printing applications.
