Reporting to: Senior Social Media Manager
 
Working closely with: Creative/Social/Marketing
 
Seniority: Open/Intermediate

TL/DR:
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for planning, creating and publishing a range of content around Counter-Strike 2 and/or Valorant knowledge that can be used in social media and digital marketing. He/she will work on the Adobe suite of products including Photoshop. Having experience in creating content and growing audiences on Facebook and social media platforms would also be beneficial, as would a love of esports.

The right candidate will be mainly supporting the Social Media, Community, and Partnerships’ marketing efforts in Ontario.

This is a fluid role and may evolve throughout the contracted period. There is a 3 month trial (paid) on this position to make sure the person is the right fit for the job.

The nitty-gritty:
  • Assist the Social Media Specialist with CS2 and/or Valorant content development and planning of day to day social media posts and video content.
  • Write compelling copy for CS2 and/or Valorant social media posts.
  • Collaborate, present ideas for creative content to be further developed, develop social media strategies alongside other Social Media Specialists and the rest of the team members, with the aim of increasing brand loyalty and user engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Creative team to ensure the brand integrity and consistency in all output.
  • Provide design and video editing support: Edit photos and videos for Facebook, YouTube, social media, and a range of other digital platforms with a creative flair appropriate to Rivalry’s brand tone of voice. 
  • Understand the user experience to ensure content is focused on maximizing engagement.
  • Gather, organize and manage media assets. Prepare video thumbnails, descriptions, and other associated metadata.
  • Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the campaign and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns.
  • Stay up to date with the latest video and content trends and digital technologies.

Your stats:
  • Must know CS2 and/or Valorant meta.
  • Well-versed with the CS2 pro esports circuit and/or Valorant scene. 
  • Experience in growing social media pages, particularly on Facebook and in esports.
  • Experience in creating highly-engaging social media content.
  • Hands-on with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and more.
  • Creative thinker, articulate and persuasive, and able to communicate ideas.
  • A strong eye for detail.
  • Doing personal video content is a plus.
  • Knowledge of League of Legends is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the NBA and NFL is a plus.
